Plug into a laptop...that's what I do with the pulse 2.0 headset that dies so often.

Can't believe 7 pages of this lol. It's like the controller argument

Some peeps don't think about other devices charging controllers. I actually use my DirecTV box to charge things around the house too. My son has his iPad mini plugged into the DirecTV box to charge it for example.

I charge my phone sometimes with my laptop, when my laptop is not even plugged in! It's cool that a battery powered laptop is charging my phone

And yet you have no issue with that with Microsoft? The play & charge kit, extra battery can run you near the same.

    Simple solution, no?
If you can find me an official six axis for less than 2.99 then yes you'd have a point.

Plus why would I want extra clutter on my setup having a controller constantly plugged into my console.

    Exactly.

But it really comes down to individual preferences! Which is why this shouldn't even be an argument.

Any active USB port can be used to charge. You can even have 1 controller and a laptop nearby and continue playing.

    Don't have a laptop/computer any more.

Only thing in my room that has a USB port is my 360 or ps3.

Point still remains for my situation, much cheaper and better for me to get rechargeable batteries etc.

I'm just talking about clutter. A smart phone charger is enough as well.

lol i don't know why we're arguing about this. i have never had any issues with my controller. i just plug it in and play for like 15 minutes...15 minutes. and it's fully charged. we're arguing about rare cases where you can't plug it in. i guess we should start making phones that take AA batteries too because it's sooo difficult to plug it in.

I never had multiple controllers for my PS3 and I never found myself running out of juice. I never used the charge cord and played at the same time either. I just made sure there was always enough juice in the batteries by putting it on charge when I went to get some food or drinks or go for a dump.
And switching the console on for the specific purpose of charging a controller is not an inconvenience, the inconvenience is not having the controller work when you want it to.
