    1.1m PS3's sold.
    $149 million loss for Game division


    On Sales:
    This was primarily due to a decrease in unit sales of PlayStation®3, PSP® (PlayStation Portable), and PlayStation®2 hardware
    Loss attributed to
    This significant increase in loss was primarily due to an increase in research and development expenses related to the upcoming introduction of the PS4

    They have very close numbers of previous years sales so the big investment to ps4 is called a loss now ?

    I was actually expecting a far heavier loss due to manufacturing of the PS4 and of course R&D costs but only $150m down is actually quite little considering their ambitions of getting so many PS4s out there. Having said that I expect quarter 2 to be close to a $600m loss as production is ramped up significantly, than at release they'll be rubbing their hands together with glee.
