No HDD big enough for PS+

When I upgraded the 60gb drive, I went for performance instead of capacity, and got a 320GB WD Black.

That was pre PS+ though and now I wish I had got the biggest possible at the time. PS+ just maxed my HDD!

The PS4 upgrade will be 1TB and beyond!

I question 1TB even being enough. My 720gb is nearly full. Have to delete games to download new PS+ games all the time. PS+ has only been out for a few years now. It'll available for PS4 from launch... The massive 500 the PS4 ships with IMHO is a bit of a joke.

PCs are very much like Air Conditioners.
They both become utterly useless once you start to open up Windows....

Yeah I agree. I'm definitely going with a much bigger HDD when I get my PS4. 500GB just ain't gonna cut it.

You can already get a 1TB for PS3 and they won't stop there. Performance wise there's really no difference unless you go all the way with an SSD, I saw a fairly cheap 1TB SSD just recently, not cheap enough for me to get just yet but within a couple of years for sure.

I have a 1tb but it'll not fit the ps3 slot harness so I'm stuck with a 750 that I have to keep deleting games to make room

The way I understand it is this...

As long as you keep subbing you have access to the games so if you delete a game you can re-download it if you ever feel the need to play the game again.

If you aint playing it why have it using space, let the "cloud" take the strain.

I hope the PS4 has a larger physical limit on hard drives, currently no drive thicker than 9.6mm will fit a PS3 but the 2TB drives are around 12mm thick.

I download all PS+ games that I find interesting so I can give them a try. If I like the game I play it, if I don't I delete it. Having them already downloaded makes the "screening" process easy and quick.

You made a sound observation about the physical HDD size. I hope the 12mm ones are compatible.

I keep everything downloaded/installed, same as on my PC, if I get a sudden urge to play something, it's right there. If you have the space then it's not a problem.

If only they just made 10TB drives for $100.

Yeah had to cull a few games from my 500gb PS3.

Hopefully going to put a 1tb or 2tb, 2tb is actually really close to 1tb in terms of cost. If a 2tb will fit, I'll aim for that.

As of right now I got a 750GB, but I can already tell at some point I'll be getting a 3TB(whenever they make them and whenever they cost less than $100 or around it.

As for the PS4 500GB is a joke especially since a lot more people beginning to embrace Straight to download.

Like I said got a 750GB got 489GB left, but so far got 30 PS3 7 PS2 and 11 PS1 games, and something tells me won't be fitting no more than 100 PS3 games on the HDD.

Another thing that's kind of bad games like Tekken Tag Tournament 2 at 16.9 GB to download same for Uncharted 2 and although I understand Uncharted do not understand TTT2 or Super Street Fighter 4 AE being 17.1 same size as DCUO

I haven't filled my 320GB Slim PS3 yet. I'm not that big on digital gaming. PS+ is changing that though.

About 2 months ago, I became a PS+ subscriber too. My 120gb was nearing capacity anyway. One (or was it two??) downloaded PS+ games and no more could fit. My brother as a surprise gift got me a 500gb hdd and so I'm sweet - especially since my focus will be on the PS4 when it comes out. But as some of you have said above, I also that the expandability option for a hdd on the PS4 will be OK :O

I can save a bit of space next month though, already have AC3, and I didn't really like it.

No storage would be enough at this stage, there's just too many games out on PS+ to get through. Best course of action, and I'm sure enough that it works, is to start the download of a monthly featured game and then cancel, so that it appears in your downloads list so you can get to it even when the deal runs out. That way you can download whenever you see fit and then delete when you're done.

PS+ is awesome for sure! But I still have the urge to buy boxed copies. I want to have shelves with only games on them, and I like the smell of new games

I have 500GB and I'm not having any issues. Then again I don't have every single game i've ever bought or got from PS+ on my hard drive. If I haven't played a game in a while I usually delete them just to leave some space for new games coming out.

I've upgraded a few times now.

    I started with a 60GB and I'm currently on a 750GB.

One thing I've noticed is that the PS3 feels significantly more sluggish now, which has put me off further upgrading.

I was wondering if you lot have been experiencing similar performance hits when upgrading, specifically when using the XMB.

Perhaps it's just an issue with my current HDD.
