Xbox one 53mhz is a safe upclock but it might be way too little to compete with PS4

http://www.dualshockers.com/2013/08/...pete-with-ps4/ Remember this is the versus section so any thread derailment with personal attacks because you cant handle it will be reported. As for the topic I dont know that much about overclocking but stability and heat might be a concern. And is 53mhz really that much? Plus PS4 still has the better GPU.

on gaf they say the bump raises the gpu to 1.3 (i think) Tflops

dont see what different this will make, if people honestly believed the ps4 advantages will not translate into better looking games, i dont see how this little bump will help them catch up

still expected a 600% increase tho

53mhz isn't much at all and it's not even worth doing it for that little bit, you will not see any difference at all. It's like overclocking a cpu to only 200mhz, you still wont see a difference in gaming for that cpu unless you're using some benchmark software and even then the fps may only increase 2fps to maybe 5fps and that's really stretching. the benefit for 53mhz is nothing, I honestly don't know why they even bothered in the first place for that small of an amount.

This is pretty true. 53MHz is too small a bump. But it's still all the better.

Dualshockers, huh? Doesn't seem like a site without bias.

And I like how you are contradicting yourself in your post rad.

If the increase isn't that much, then wouldn't the additional thermal/power requirements be negligible? And do you really think MS would take any kind of risk regarding thermal performance regarding their history?

From my experience in OCing GPUs, a 53MHz bump had both noticeable framerate improvements and higher temperatures.

Overheating should not be an issue, the damn thing is the size of a vcr from the 90s! They should be ok

Too little to compete? Judging by what's out there right now, I would have to disagree.

That's because everything has to be a contest nowadays. All this N4g stuff is just hilarious.

Given their history yes I do. Because they have done it before. Sorry, but MS is going to have to earn my trust back. And I've stated in other threads that I would like to see what Sony's cooling solution is. Hopefully we wont see another YLOD. As for contradicting myself I'm just saying that the heating and instability risks might outweigh the small bit of actual vs theoretical performance they might gain.

Mynd put one out there lol. If there was a gif along with it... it'd be post of the day for sure lol.

I've said it already in another thread of this same topic but.. it's an increase. If it doesn't increase the temps to the point of it being a problem, then it's a good thing.

i'll not complain, that's for sure. but i need to know what this will actually do for the system. i'll not hold my breath while waiting for MS to show the difference.

"The biggest adversary in our life is ourselves. We are what we are, in a sense, because of the dominating thoughts we allow to gather in our head. All concepts of self-improvement, all actions and paths we take, relate solely to our abstract image of ourselves. Life is limited only by how we really see ourselves and feel about our being. A great deal of pure self-knowledge and inner understanding allows us to lay an all-important foundation for the structure of our life from which we can perceive and take the right avenues.
