    Blu-Ray Playback

Which console will be the better one? This is Sony's territory so is it an easy win for them?

I doubt picture quality is going to be identical or else they'd only ever be the need to have a single Blu-Ray player on the market from each company.

Both are 6x, both are slot, both are 50gb support, both are 4k capable, both are 1080p, both are probably pretty close to the same. The actually quality of the player (physical) I imagine would be better on the PSfore. It's what Sony does.

They both have very similar CPU and GPUs.

It will come down to software and ease of use I think.

This... probably. Sony has a lot of experience in the Blu-ray player department.

I would say Sony simply because they are almost identical but Sony had a hand in creating Blu Ray. Probably don't be much of a difference though.

If we are talking picture quality and accurate colour, PS4 will win.
Xbox One will have crushed blacks on Blu-Rays, you just wait.

PS4 has little to no competition.

Err it depends who's making the actual drive? The XB1 is probably Samsung, and so might be Sony's since the original phats were Samsung I believe, the Slim ones are when they switched to Sony.

Quality will probably be the same, a few pixels worth of difference isn't gonna ruin a movie for anyone lol

It would be awesome though if we got top of the range Blu-Ray playback on both consoles or even one of them.

Agree, though stuff like that costs money, don't see them doing it for the prices the consoles ship at.

Doesn't matter. You will still be better of with a higher end stand alone blu-ray player.
