    PSN Questions

I wanted to redeem some vouchers from a special edition. And in the process, I had to access the PSN store, which of course I didn't, because my account is set in Lebanon.

So, I thought about creating a PSN account set in the US, considering a local shop has been selling $50 PSN cards for $55, and it's just frustrating knowing that I paid full price (with our hefty taxes) for something I would not enjoy full access to.

So, I thought, would it be worth it? Will they ban me if they found out that this is not my real address?
I know I will lose my trophies in the process, but I think it's worth it as far as advantages go

    PSN Questions

Loads of people have accounts from different regions. Even Official Playstation Magazine gave that suggestion to a reader because he wanted the Shiffering Islands DLC from Oblivion.
I also have a Signapore account when I wanted to try out a demo.
You won't get banned I believe

    Thank you for the advice.
Just finished, discovered that having a new, better username is also an advantage hehe. I miss my trophies, but it was worth it

    Great for you.
Anyway, I hadn't much to lose anyway, so it's a win-win. If I may have to ask, which country did you choose for this?

Could always use the games/content from your other accounts on your main one. Thats what I do. My Main is Canadian but I got American and EU accounts also (US is same store, just PSN codes are region specific)

For this one I just chose my own country, as I didn't really need any of the features the other countries would give me. I still have my US and my Signapore account though

There's nothing wrong with doing that, I think you'll find most of us here have more than the regular US account, I for one got a European also. And a Japanese I think but I don't use that, think I got it for a demo or something. So don't be afraid to make a new account to save a few bucks it's not illegal or anything.

I can confirm that all those, except the avatars i think, will work
I had PS+, and I could play the games from the instant game collection on my other accounts

Exactly, Avatars are the only ones that won't work because they're exclusive to each account separately but since the rest are stored in your PS3 they're made available to any user account you may have on it as well.

Does it happen often? Usually it's just a momentary disruption in the connection that causes it, if it's frequent I'd make sure my ISP has no issues and then contact Sony.

Many people from around the world register to places with different locations and nothing ever got them in trouble. I think you'd do fine.
