Can the Dualshock 4 charge in a wall plug?

One of the things that annoyed me about the DS3 was that when it is almost out of battery I cant plug it in to a usb wall plug to charge (in this case my phone charger), I have to plug it into my PS3. Does anyone know if the DS4 will require you to plug it in tho the PS4 to charge?

Well.. I'm surprised. I thought DS3 can charge from whatever source with an USB port.

Can DS3 be charge at least from computer?

Yeah I charge mine from my PC sometimes when I turn the PS3 off.
Little annoying thing is when you unplug it from the PC the PS3 turns on. It's like you're pressing the PS button when disconnecting the USB lead.

That does not happen when I charge mine through my laptop.

You must have some weird 3rd party USB charger, I used one from HTC and another from Samsung and both worked just fine...

I believe that the DS3 doesn't charge of 0.5A wall chargers. I experienced it with a number of 0.5A wall chargers but worked fine w/ my 1A and 2A wall chargers. Also charged off my DVR, AV Receiver, USB Hub and a number of other components that I have w/ USB ports.

No word if this is a limitation or not, but not really too worried about it. I keep a 2A USB charger next to where I sit on the couch. Usually for my phone. That said, I'll always have multiple controllers and could swap out, but I also will simply plug it up to the console when I'm done so that it will always get topped off. I doubt I'll be in any 30-40hr straight gaming sessions where I would run it from full charge to empty. Hell I doubt that I've had one that lasted more than 10hrs on the PS3.

My DS3 charger can charge via USB or the "USB>Wall Plug" adapter. So yeah. The Phone Charger doesnt seem to be supplying enough to the controller

I always plugged my DS3 into my PC to charge it. I'll do the same with the DS4.

Yeah, this is a non-issue with the PS4.

Concerning your DS3 - you have to make sure your wall charger outputs enough current to charge your device! My wallcharger outputs 5 V and 1200 mA. Most phone chargers only output between 200-300 mA!

I have a S4 charger that works with it, I would have figured the S3 and S4 chargers would be identical...wonder what changed...
