Help Save the DC!

I know I am not the only one that notices the Design Corner becoming less popular day by day! This is a dying section, and we need some ideas on how to improve this situation. Right now the only active threads are the SOTW and the request threads. I am not going to point fingers and criticize people (it didn’t turn out too good last time), but the issue remains, and solving it is beyond me. I am just afriad this will go the way of the Review Team!


You guys can post some ideas on how to improve traffic in the area, and together we can help save this section.

I know...Its sad but true...We could save the Design Corner if we remake the Design Squad and we bring brand new ideas to it. What do you guys think?

We need brand new people in the DS. Many people are not even active anymore...Our leader is busy in PS3 land, and the Design Corner is going down for real...
I am planing on organizing a few events for this month to get some new people to the DC, and some lucky ones might be called into the DS (once we speak with NUM about all o this)
For what i see, only Minimal Sanity, tribunal sometimes and Svet are keeping it alive. <Awesome work BTW

Right now i got 3 contests in mind:
"Promissing designers tournament" for potential users new to photoshop.
"SotW" same as before, but advertised with more strength.
"Halloween Designs" like SotW but with halloween stuff like icons, avatars, animations, sigs, etc...

And i got also a small catch:
-100 posts for a sig+av is way too much IMO. New members came befor and asked for their sets and left. Why dont we keep doing that? We kept doing sigs, not like now...

I could spend more time on PS If I was. I think its a great idea.

Hey supaman, ill PM you with the details to make a new move about the DC.
I guess we have to bring more ideas to the DS. Looks like we are stuck on only sigs+avys.
I have seen few sprites, animations, and icons. We need cool ideas.

But the main idea is not to bring more designers in. We already have them, but somehow they dont want to battle. We need competitions to bring people in!

How about adding some cool forum features in that section only. I don't have a clue about what those could be, but it's just my advice.

Excellent idea the design Squad is way too valuable to lose! How about (if it ever comes back, NOT FLAMING) putting some DS stuff in the shop?

I would like to contribute to the DS and DC but I feel I just don't have enough free time to make a 100% commitment to making sigs and avatars for users all the time. With work and everything I am always busy. Luckily though I had enough time to enter the wallpaper contest.

I would be part of PDT if it ever got estabilished, and I have sent an entry to this weeks SOTW.

I would make sig and avatars for other members... but I find their requests too complex or too time consuming lol.

At the ps3forums index, you will find different sections like the 360 section, the wii section, the general chit-chat section and below it is the design corner where you can show off your sig and avatars or request one to be made by our talented designers.D

i got an idea, why not make like design points sorta like how it counts post and when people like your design and vote or poll for it u get more design points which coulld be underneath our regualar status

example
sketcher 50 points
drawer 100 points
painter 200 points
master artist 500 points
cartoonist 1000 points

and so on i think it would incourage alot of ppl to want to design just to get the status boost.

I think there are too many stickies and too many threads that the average poster wouldnt have any interest in.

I think the SOTW are good, why cant there be restraint contests where people test their skills in other programs like flash or even MS paint to see who truly has an artistic flair.

First, Thorzilla, you should take charge with Supaman and Minimal Sanity and seriously, clean up the DS. Kick everyone out if you have to. Get Morph to kick everyone out and re-recruit. Definitely get rid of NUM, a guy that doesn't care anymore about this who still has the indecency to come back and nominate someone for 'co-leader of the DS' should get his head cut off quickly.

You guys need leadership more than anything. Get rid of every thread in the DC except for the couple that people actually post in. Get rid of all the stickies and only stay with your flagship threads. Then, after you've recruited some members that actually care more about the DS than whining day and night about how hard their work is, you can begin to try to revive this.

Normally I'd try and get a couple of people to help you guys, but we're trying to get Morph to do something in other areas too and... a little overstretched we are.
