I first saw this fish being described in that UK show where there's a bloke who goes fishing for strange and exotic fish in rivers. It had been introduced in Papua New Guinea (from Latin America) to raise local fish stock, as I recall. From memory it was deemed to be non-dangerous as it was a vegetarian eater, but local food sourcing was hard to come by, and so it turned to emasculation as the local PNG villagers went for a dip in the river system. Shocking stuff.
