Helgason is pretty sold on Xbox One, and especially the new Kinect. "Obviously the new Kinect is a kind of particular focus there," he said. "Because it's so powerful - it's actually [laughs] I don't know which kind of words to put on it - if I say it's ridiculous it sounds negative, but it's just an amazing piece of hardware."And the software behind it is actually a big part of that, the software that the engine has to support well to make this good. And so we're working on that."http://www.oxm.co.uk/60577/kinect-is...e-of-hardware/"We're working on other things to make sure that we support the best of the rest of the platform. That'll be things like matchmaking, and we support the SmartGlass concept, and we make it easy to tap into Microsoft's cloud infrastructure."

Kinect is a "particular focus" for Unity on Xbox One "amazing piece of hardware""We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that (developers) want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so then the question is, what do you do for the rest of the nine-and-a-half years?"

Oh, that is good. It's nice to see that developers are embracing this even more. The thing I like is that it's all core game discussions regarding Kinect. Rarely seeing any of the casual game talk anymore. Excellent focus.

Given Microsoft’s reversal on its indie publishing, decreeing that independent devs and small studios could now self-publish on Xbox Live for Xbox One, Unity’s support will go a long way towards making the experience better.
its nice to see the game changers of xbox one are being enabled in the indie side of things as i believe that they are the most likely to make best use of kinect and smartglass.
