Yeah I quite like the story/setting.

Wasn't this cancelled though? Or was it saved by the THQ auction?

    #IndieStation4 and proud of it.

Concept was good. Execution was terrible. Among the worst campaigns this generation. Multiplayer was good, just needed more to flesh it out.

Anyways wasn't Crytek working on this game?

Homefront was a massive cluster $#@! of the highest order. I refused to buy it on principal. An online friend kept pestering me to buy it.

The publishers struck up a deal with leading retail stores in the UK that would not allow Steam users to buy the game on Steam when the game requires steam to function.
    Stupidity at it finest.

Last I heard was that the game sold over 300k first week in the US alone. Not sure how well it did worldwide.

Homefront was one of the biggest sleepers this gen and underrated. While it only received an average of 70 on metacritic, most people that actually ended up buying it enjoyed it quite a bit. Myself along with quite a few of my real life friends all bought it and loved it. We had our clan going for quite some time, and it actually has a great following. Their DLC with the Golden Gate bridge got quite a few purchases, because I had no issues finding games on the new DLC.

Graphically, it wasn't good. But the campaign (story line), weapons, controls, UI were all fun and appealing.

It shipped 2.4 million thanks to the crazy marketing. The sales record I can find say that it crossed 1 million sales easily. Sale is all that matters to publishers, they don't care if people don't like it as much

They wanted to make a second one because it sold well and got good reception from gamers.
