how about we have things like the lottery and stuff. we could have things like the powerball and casinos or just games that we play each other to win points. since its not real money we all can do it. how about it.

This was brought up awhile back actually, but then it was felt that people wouldnt think of the skill points as actual skill points, rather as points, and you would be able to get skill points from not contributing, so it will look like people have contributed alot when they have in fact just been playing the games and are one lucky...hehe, which isnt really fair to members that contribute to the forum.
I had an idea about being able to exchange skill points for game points, with an exchange rate of 10 SPs to 2 GPs, but theres also the issue with bandwidth as well, which is a very big issue.
Games arent usually massive, but you will have lots of people clicking and eventually it does become a massive issue, and theres also the issue of the actual games, you would need to make them work with the system on here, which could be pretty hard to work out.
Im sure theres probably people who have made mods for these things, but again its the bandwidth that really counts to whether it would be a good idea in the end, and im thinking it wouldnt since people would be getting SPs for not contributing, but instead playing games and using the bandwidth..
Thats my thoughts on itI have no signature.
No, really, i don't. You're just imagining this.

The problem with a casino is you take a page from the book of real life, it produces Crime, so youd get member derliberty starting threads and posting utter spam just to get points for it, it would be fun but i think not, im starting to get a think tank going for a chat room how ever.

like i said you would get something else for the games and points for your posts. so that way you cant post for points for this or look like you are a expeirenced poster when your just lucky.

I dont think there should be gambling, but games i dunno what games but simple games. And you like eran points for how good your doing in the game, and like the better you do the more points your awarded. I don't something like that would be really great.

Newbies/ n00bs (hehe) could post once, and get 10points, but if they rock at a certain game they could earn tons of hard cold skill points.
How about quizzes, like sticky threads ran by staff members (called quizzers and the lowest denominator of the bunch), to keep quiz threads down. Instead of easy-as-heck games (this is a gaming forum people
), theey test your knowledge and provide a suitible challenge.
Don't lean too close to mirrors. Your reflection is not to be trusted.

ok theres another site that has this and mabe you can put it here.
instead of winning points you use points from posting to play and you can get a high score but just get a trophy and bragging rights. theres also a lottery on another site that is kind of like the powerball.

So, for people that want points, it's a good deal, for people who want other stuff, it's a good deal. I got plenty of homework help with points!

That sounds like a good idea un3stricted. It would benefit most if not all the people of the forums.

The Stock Exchange Marketplace(where you post ads for points, or for services)
You guys might not understand much of what is going on at the marketplace, but I think you get the jist of it.
What happens is, you get a random number of stock exchange points when you log in everyday. It is random, but always between 1-8 points total. Could be totally wierd, like 3.74 or something. If you don't log in, you don't get any points. The Marketplace is a spot to make a request for services, or points if you have service you can offer, BUT you have to pay some of your points to make a post on it, and it costs points based on how big your message is. Also, it is mostly a trust system, but if an Admin finds that someone cheated, they can take away the cheaters points, and give them back to the person who deserved them. In addition, people who make good contributions to the site can be rewarded with points, some up to 3,000. I always thought it was fun, but I don't know about you guys.

Now that you mention a game... you could always set up a "pen and paper" RPG kind of thing on here. I know a lot of people that like that, though I personally don't find them that fun.

so do have any great prizes in mind here.

-
09-04-2005 #18Thats the problem... the other site had a premium membership that you could pay money to get. About 2,000 people paid for it, so the site had the best of the best in terms of services for premium members($15 to get a year). Many of the prizes where 3 month/6 month/12 month premium subscriptions. Other than that, I would have to say all you could really do is make some really awesome special items or effects for the people to get as prizes.
