    I'm loving the UI.
Everytime I see something new on it, I get more and more excited to use it.
It just looks clean and elegant to me, I also love how the XMB is still there, and integrated quite well into the new layout.

Looked alright, definitely not as good as an OS that would require over 2 gb of RAM.

    I rather quite like it.

Plus the time it takes to go from OS -> MP game is about 6 seconds.

    #IndieStation4 and proud of it.

And isnt it meant to be custimizable? The others videos had blue backgrounds and were different.

I agree, but most of that memory isn't for flashy on screen bells and whistles.
It's for background processes, streaming, and multi tasking.
As long as it ALL runs smooth and fast, I will be happy.

The RAM is more for the background operations.

I would like to see an more in-depth demonstration of the UI before I make up my mind. What was shown now was more like watching a trailer. Hopefully they will show more of it during Gamescom.

I love that they didn't ditch the XMB, just expanded on it. Best interface out there, imo.

I think it looks alright. I'm not fond of interface sound though, I hope we can disable it in the settings.

What's so nice about this is while it's sleek looking, I'm pretty sure that previous PS fans from the PS3 will take to the UI very quick.

Interesting concept but it still needs some work refining the flow of the interface. I'm sure it will be refined with time.

Yep. It will need some work on being more fluid.

An evolved XMB. Interesting, and a safe step forward. Also squares seem to be all the rage these days, or more pronounced anyways. It will do I guess.

I know but still 3gb it's too much, I mean my old laptop runs on 2gb of RAM with no problem and it's obvious that full fledged OS (Windows is not even taking up 1gb itself) so that's why I don't understand why would the PS4's OS require so much RAM if not even PCs need that much to run the OS even with lots of background processing and multitasking.

It definitely doesn't need 3gb, and it seems it doesn't allocate a full 3gb for the OS now even. I doubt it's currently using even 1gb for the functions we know it has. If it has 2gb or so allocated to it now, it's almost definitely just a precautionary action to future proof it and assure that it won't miss out on any cool new features that Xbone could come with later. They don't want to repeat the party chat crap again.

I actually loved the UI. It was much better than I expected. I liked how they kept the XMB implemented and how it flowed through each section. It makes you want to use it. Also to me it looked more social.

Still even if they try to do it for future proof's sake 3gb still seems too much imo, but you may be right and the OS might just end up taking up 1-2gb on the retail version, wish Sony commented on this.

Well, the good thing about it is, they can always give that ram back to games later. If they gave 7gb to games now, then at some point realized they'd need 1.25gb ram for all the features they want, they'd be screwed. If they allocate 2-2.5gb now for OS, and later on realize they'll never need more than 1.25gb, they can just give back .75-1.25gb to games.
