Well, if my Christmas bonus is fat enough, I'll be # 620. So, it's all good.

    Cool, I guess.

Not really sure I have a grasp on how good or bad that number is supposed to be.

620 - the magic number! Seems exciting, but I'll echo the sentiments by relaying that hopefully it's not just a heap of poor Indie games that'll slip under the carpet fairly rapidly. That being said, the more the merrier - nice to see the PS4 being an attractive developing option from the outset.

We will see $#@! games. But the more games we get the chances are good that gems will pop out here and there.

Exactly. Just like the smartphone market. Lots of crap out there, but a lot of excellent games rise to the top.

We will, and that's a good thing. You can't only have the best games out there, you need to give everyone a chance so that maybe you'll find a really good game.

Chances are at least half of them will never make it to release on the system. This is normal on games machines and it's not a trait exclusive to Playstation. All games machines usually have a high level of drop outs in the first year or so due to issues related to the developers.

    Still great news however!

That's a lot of "devs". Let's see how many are actually out there and can release something decent.

That's the best thing about Indies, most might be something absolutely ridiculous, rubbish, and pathetic and instantly binned but there's one thing that is always good about even those crap games and that's innovation, it's just that being such a small team they often can't execute it properly.

I bet most are Indie developers though which I don't mind as long as they don't make Minis like boring games.

I just don't want to see more asteroids/space invaders/galaga/sinistar etc inspired games.

I am $#@!ing tired of indies making games based in this very archaic, shallow, sub-genre of shooter.

Don't get me wrong, I got Super Stardust HD, but purely because of how pretty it looked at a glance, and since it was free after PSN got put back up after the downtime.

I played it for maybe 20 minutes and never picked it back up.

Overall I don't see the attraction here. Too much 80s nostalgia.

Housemarque needs to make more games like Dead Nation and Outland, and less like Super Stardust.

Unfortunately, their newest game Resogun, is more of the latter.
