    Stereo helmet!

I wanted to listen to music while out on long rides with the bike.
Had a pair of cheap cans lying around, so I took out the soldering gun, made some coffee and put on some smooth jazz, which is my official soldering music.

Things didn't go as planned and the the cheap headphones got ruined. $#@! happens. Now I had to look elsewhere for a good pair of speakers.. :/

It turns out I wasn't using my Sony MDR-XD200 as much as I wanted. I threw an evil smile and started taking these babies apart.

A bit bigger that the first prototype but a very good fit nonetheless.

Right driver glued. Cable runs around the inside of the helmet to the other side.

RIght driver covered, glued and the padding in place.

Left driver glued and padded. Cable comes out on the left side, towards the back.

Stereo helmet with kick ass audio, a reality!

you know they make helmets with speakers in them, right? regardless, nice work, and you saved a few bucks.

Oh I know. They cost half the price of what the Shoei Neotec alone costs. And they sound twice as bad as what the Sony MDR-XD200 sound.

This DIY project wasn't about saving a a few bucks. It was about using what I had to get a better result than what's in the market. And because DIY is half the fun.

Good work man, A portable Amp will do wonders even to lower end headphones.

Received the amp today. A FiiO E11. Holly crap! The stereo helmet got awesomified!

I expected a big difference but experiencing it is a whole other thing. Couldn't be happier!
