    TV upgrade to suit PS4

I dunno if this is technically the right place to post this but here goes anyway.

I'm looking at upgrading my 6 years old Sony Bravia before PS4 releases so I can get the best picture quality and least input lag/refresh rate or whatever it is called.

Anyone know anything about which TV is best suited to gaming these days? (I'm not looking for a monitor, specifically a TV).

Well if you are mostly concerned with input lag Sony is king but the particular models in this article only go up to 55". I personaly am going to get the Panasonic tc-p65vt60. It has average input lag but spectacular picture quality.

if you are in the uk it looks like the equivalent Panasonic model is TX-P65VT65B

Just looked through some Killzone screenshots, I feel bad that I'm going to be playing it on a 22" tv. It deserves better.

When I find a job, I'll get a 32~42" TV, that would be an epic upgrade over my small CRT TV

I recently bought myself a 27" monitor, never had a big tv to game on, but whenever I was at family who had a big gaming tv, I found myself creeping closer and closer to the TV.

Not because I couldn't see good enough, but because I like to be close to the action. I sit about a meter from my 27" monitor and I'm loving it, even now with my ps3 and 720p games.

Times are going to be good this November.

I hear ya on that. My original plan was just to wait out oled until it was bigger and cheaper but I realized I would miss out on 4 to 5 yrs of the ps4's life. So I'm just going to get pretty much the best tv now and then an oled when I can afford it.

I got a 55-inch LED LCD 1080p 120Hz 3D HDTV (not a Smart TV) from Samsung not too long ago for $859. The thing is freaky, how big and how light it is. It has been the largest TV I have been able to carry into the house without much problem in years. The size takes getting used to. Sitting 7 feet from it, it still fills most of my field of view and really makes it feel like living the game. The outside world completely melts away. Crazy thing is there is 50-inch 4K this fall for $1500. Course, the curved OLED are going to be around $9,000. Amazing how the TV price market has collapsed, and once 4K starts hitting, the 1080p starts dropping further in price.

I got a 32'' LCD TV but am looking forward to upgrade if I get some extra cash on a 42''-50'' LCD or LED TV. If you're in the States I'd recommend Walmart seems like they got the best selection of cheap and nice brands even compared to Amazon.

Why not get a projector for the same price or less of a 60" inch TV and enjoy gaming on a new level? Im talking 100+ inches. Couple that with an epic HD audio system and you'll find yourself in gaming heaven.

If budget is okay, get Sony Bravia with Triluminous display. I think, this is the best display ever made currently.

Bigger isn't necessarily better. And no consumer projector can stand up to a high end panasonic plasma.

Not to mention the whole bulb change cost.

You're absolutely wrong on that one. If you can control your room lighting a projector can very much rival high end TVs. I suggest you head over to the AVS forums and enlighten yourself. Sure, a Panasonic Plasma may give you better blacks and more dynamic colors but that will soon be forgotten once you see the projector's "screen" size.

And yes, bigger IS better. Once you've experienced a 1080p Blu Ray movie on a 120'' screen you don't want to go back to that 40'' miniature... Better blacks or not.

    I've got a Optoma HD200X (1080p) on a 120" screen and its phenomenal. Games/movies are stunning.
