    D'aww! I was looking forward to dual-GPUs :/

The surest sign that you are on the right side of a debate is when you find yourself against those who are stuck in the past because they have no future.

So there is or isn't? You refused to participate in the other thread so I assumed that the rumor was false.

from what i can read... most of the people culling a second gpu from it were looking at power traces that are doubled up for no reason, the extra "room" on the chipset (you don't usually have extra 'wasted' space), and other techie conjecturing.

As with almost all pre-release tech info, that is all the article is, is speculation.

You would have to go back to last year to the leaked MS roadmap that mentioned a second Gpu in the system. The leaked info was taken off websites by MS. The day after the hotchips presentation MS admits a 22nm SOC wasn't discussed. That 22nm SOC on the motherboard has a purpose for something.

Volcanic island reveal. Thats the supposed GPU thats secreted away. The reveal will be filmed behind the grassy knoll, in the exact same spot as JFK's real shooter stood. Followed by a literal volcanic example as the chip bursts forth aliens style from the guts of the xbo cpu.

    I have doubts.

What irks me is how desperate the XBONE 'elite' are getting. Amazing they invent things based on CHIP PACKAGING now. Claiming that one layer is the 32MB ESRAM, one layer is the APU, top layer is a discrete GPU.... uh... okay! That chip would melt, making it the true successor to the RROD touting system.

Instead of getting irked, how about waiting and seeing. Speculation has happened on every console of every console maker. When people have incomplete evidence, that's when speculation happens....with EVERYTHING.

Its 22nm SOI and if you look at the image the only thing that was not implemented was the 360 chipset:

"We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that (developers) want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so then the question is, what do you do for the rest of the nine-and-a-half years?"

What irks me is why people think it needs it. It's already a very well rounded capable system.
