    By gone the era, where PS3 and X360 multiplat looked virtual identical or slightly better on xbox

    TLDR: Basically dev tried to beat around the bush with "equal experience" and the interviewer asked if about PS4 vs X1 version.

    He said graphics will prob differ.

    The gap.... its widening.

    Think these guys are going to be bitter towards the Xbone since it isn't scheduled at all to release in their country... not even in the 2014 plans.

    highly doubt it since the witcher 2 only came to 360 so they are bound to have good relations with MS

    Compared to last gen where devs always say both vesions are same even though they are not, the difference must be somewhat significant for them to admit it.

    I mean devs always try to downplay these sort of things.

    Maybe not sabotage exactly, i just mean that they are unlikely to be doing MS any favours in the near future since their friends and family can't play anything they make.

    I don't see there being a major difference between multiplats on the PS4 and Xbox One. I think developers will figure it out this time around. With both being easy to develop for you'd hope anyway.

    With them actively attempting to max out both consoles already, right out of the gate, perhaps such a gap is inevitable?


    VG247: In a recent interview, CD Projekt members suggested that the team has already managed to max out next-gen systems. I found this a bit concerning as you’re aiming to launch The Witcher 3 very early on in their life cycle. I know the game will be dramatically intense on PC, but can you tell us just how much the game is progressing on next-gen platforms?

    Ziemak: Sure. At this point, we’re advanced in testing, running and experimenting with next-gen platforms, and at this point we know the game is pretty demanding. Of course, we still have the authorisation phase in front of us, but because of size and density, we are already close to maxing out the equipment. Of course, if we find more workforce in boxes, we will surely use it to make the game even better. I think others share the same opinion as us, if there’s power to be used then why not use it all?     ^ Ok, I know NOTHING about tech hardware. But I have to call bull$#@! on this. No way they maxed out the next gen consoles. Maybe they have thrown on some slop bloated code?

    "Here is 50gb of textures, here we are using 8gb of ram, and here we have stuffed the video card full. Yes, we could have cut all the down by 90% and accomplish the same thing, but why?"

    It will be interesting to see whether CD Projekt RED will be using all the extra memory on the PS4.

    C'mon Soldier, you should know by now that the term 'maxed out' is rather meaningless and arbitrary. It's just developer word play. The PS4 (XB1 too) is a lot easier to code than the PS3, but there's no way they've managed to efficiently squeeze every drop of processing out of the machines. Their engine and game is just throttling the systems to the edge of its current capability.

    Yeah any company that says they are using the systems to the max for launch games, would probably be safe to say they are talking a bit of BS. 2nd or 3rd release games it is understandable that they a really pushing which ever console to the limit.
