Damn there is a lot going on there! Looks good. Reminds me a lot of Super Stardust HD.

Effects aside, it seems like a downgrade in versatility over Super Stardust to me.

One was a globe, and this is cylindrical.

Game looks impressive, but I can't stand when indies make overly retro shooters. They seem to be as common for indies as FPS are for larger devs.

I was hoping for a new Dead Nation or Outland type of game from Housemarque, but this is what we got.

Physics become particularly difficult to process when objects are impacting and interacting with each other. These are mostly flying away from a centralized explosion. So I'm not too impressive in that regard, and for the game itself it doesn't seem to do anything other than look flashy. I would like a game involving heavy physics elements that influence the gameplay.

I agree, Dead Nation is a great game I'd love another like it.

Dead Nation was good, shame we didn't get any driving car missions :/

This game runs and looks super, I think we just need to see more of the settings to get a good idea of the full game.

Chill. They're just dipping their toes into this next gen ocean. Besides it's not like this is the last game they will ever make.

    Dont you mean HOLY $#@!!

Thats what I said when the level disintegrated into millions of particles.

Stardust is also great shooter, simple and easy to control yet also hard to master.

I probably wouldn't buy it either, but it's FREE on plus so no reason to not have a go at it.

So sick of all these indie titles to be honest... As mentioned earlier, they are clinging too hard on to retro concepts.

    Rise looks awesome though.

Super Stardust HD was just that.
Simple to play and control but hard to master. The only thing that mattered to me was to beat all my friends that played it.

hehe for some people here it must really be hard to enjoy video games. It just gets to the point of....why bother gaming.

For me, this game looks solid. I can't wait to start playing Resogun. smooth gameplay and a side shooter to boot. bring it.

His point is that; there are a lot of indie titles being announced, much more so than larger scale games, and while that in and of itself is not the issue, most of the games announced are simplistic and borrow too much from old, arguably archaic genres.

Yeah, I too sometimes I like to relax with straight-forward, pick up 'n play stuff like various low quality tablet games, but those are just distractions for me. I don't get a real emotional investment from them. They are quick fixes during a lunch break or just before I have to head to work and stuff, for the most part.

I welcome indies, but for me, I'm mostly in it for deep experiences that the big guys are just too hesistant to try out for fear of failure. Games like Journey, or Outlast or Rime as mentioned before.

I'm not asking for big budget. I don't need top notch graphics and big name label soundtracks etc.

I just want a deep experience. Indies can deliver good mechanics, thoughtful stories and designs just fine.

Then just ignore them? Really, they can't be bothering you unless you buy them.
