    One thing I've notcied about killzone sf is at e3 the jungle demo had tons pop in on the grass and trees. It seemed to occur even closer to the gameplay camera than on games on the current gen. It also looked alot different than what sony showed at the ps4 reveal. I havent noticed much pop in in the xbox one games ive seen.

    Gametype: Warzone
    Round 1: Capture and Hold
    Round 2: Kills

    I'll get the big one out of the way: the framerate is highly variable right now. I'd estimate the range was 20 to 60 depending on where in the map I was and what kind of action was happening. Most of the time it seemed to stay at 30. There's severe aliasing issues and horrible dithering on all foliage. Worse than Witcher 2 shadow dithering.

    The game itself was very fun, though a bit more fast paced than I expected. Kill time is still fairly long but it's kind of run and gun. I was a bit thrown off by the controls since it now uses the triggers.

    The DS4 feels amazing. It's got this really tight grip feeling that I've never felt in another controller. My headphones were kinda quiet so I couldn't really judge the sound.

    There is nothing silly about what Ive been saying. And i havent EVER said "oh its a disaster". Not even close.

    Ive said that if you are seeing drops to 20 now you wont see stable 60 at release unless a miracle happens. And Im saying that based on my knowledge on the matter (writing rendering engines for example), and my experience on the matter (having been in the industry).

    Two more months of optimization to go....not worried 1 bit. MP typically sees a lot of work late in development. Sounds like the controls are pretty tight and love what I hear about the new controller. GG hasn't let me down before. I don't think framerate or visuals will suffer at all! Guess this game has had soo much great pub that we have to try to find something negative and try to blow it out of proportion. Color me not surprised...and definately not worried.

    Yep, the MP footage that we've seen from Gamescom looked pretty awesome so I'm not worried about it.

    is it even possible to get locked 60 in multiplayer?....you know, and actually have a decent sized map and more than 20 players?

    the juggernauts known as the PC's drop huge FPS in multiplayer....jus' sayin'. 'sticking' to a frame limit in something as variable as MP seems like chasing after your own tail.

    Game still months away from release isn't running perfectly as promised? Oh man!

    But really, GG will need to get this sorted and I'm confident they will--can't have one of their "best looking" launch exclusives looking and playing like ass...imagine that!

    Indeed, having as high a framerate as possible on the PC is everything so dropping the graphics for frames is often the case when playing online. It's not too bad for consoles though as everyone has the same hardware though having positional frame drops can still be a bit iffy.

    Having said that playing Killzone 2 tonnes at the time it was a lot 30FPS however at least it played smoothly which is all that I would want on a console. If they lock it to 30FPS in Multiplayer only then so be it, as long as the experience is top notch!

    Ok so they're not showing the rain map. The demo cycles to it, then resets.

    The framerate seemed much more solid this time. Almost always 60 with occasional drops. I don't know what the deal was yesterday. I tried out a bunch of weapons, but most of the abilities appear to be locked for this demo. It was just the turret, shield, and revive bot, which you can use to remotely revive allies. The shield seems a little bit cheap. Most of the assault weapons take 5-6 bullets to kill, and the semiauto sniper took 3 bullets to kill.

    Destiny and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor is all I need for the rest of the year.

    I was hoping Killzone would be a true next gen experience, but these terrible pop ins and dithering just go to show is really isn't.

    Not to mention the demo builds are always older builds (or rather, if you're being nitpicky, 99% of the time) which are prepared separately from development.

    But yes, I guess Sith is gospel; Pop-in textures exclusive only to PS4.

    Honestly EVERYONE makes too big a deal with what we are seeing right now. Wether it be BF4,KZ, or even one of the MS games these companies are balls to the wall trying to get these games launched with the console. They aren't optimizing demos etc....they are stressed to the max and aren't even utilizing the systems powers remotely to their fullest on either console. Trying to get a handle on a new console while developing a game...extremely difficult. The stuff we are seeing across the board is not going to be representative of either consoles power or abilities moving forward...nor of any studios ability. I fully believe almost all the games will have some faults...some issues but those are going to be related to meeting a launch deadline and not fully utilizing any consoles power....not a diagnosis of MS or Sony's new console limitations. I think KZ launches looking great....and playing great....and a leap in visuals and performance will be evident....however there will probably be maps or scenes that may drop framerates etc...do more to not enough time to optimize not because they couldn't handle it. We see this with lots of games....some maps are just poorly designed or have bottlenecks or funnel too much into an area and cause issues on the system....it doesn't mean the console can't handle it...just it was poorly optimized or designed for that scene or area.

    Usually games don't demo well anyways, plus at E3 the hardware wasn't done. Texture pop in doesn't bother me too much, it wont affect my purchase. I'd rather it wasn't in there but we'll see. But I've heard nothing but positive things about KZSF, and being a big KZ fan I have a lot of hype for this game.
