IllumiRoom launching soon for the Xbox One?...MS says NOPE!

Microsoft now says cost is an issue for bringing it to market. "I wouldnít expect youíll see that," explains Albert Penello, head of product planning for Xbox One, in an interview with AusGamers. "Itís really super-neat if youíre in the lab and youíve got Microsoft money and you could totally set up this awesome lab, but... we looked at it, but for an average customer itís, like, thousands of dollars [for the set up]."

Their leaked document detailed this tech for a 2014 release but I guess they need to do a bit more research on it.

If it launches at all it will be years from now. xb1/kinect alone is already expensive enough.

While it might actually be cool for light shows and mood lighting, and it is yet another microsoft technology that has some nifty ideas, does anyone really think it would do much to improve gaming? I see it as being more distracting than enhancing. Now it's really expensive to. And a long way out in the future either way.

Be grateful, if they could do it cheap it might end up mandatory for the next generation of consoles pushing the price up another $100.

They arent the same thing. One isnt competing with the other.

But I do think it would fail because u need a projector with a pc hooked to it for it to work

Maybe later down the line when the technology is more affordable something like this will happen, but I still find it intriguing!
