    Well the argument that MS doesn't know it's launch window is out the window now since they announced it a few hours ago.

    That said, I haven't seen any MS Advertising and only the one PS4 Advertisement "Greatness Awaits" w/ all the Playstation Characters a couple times on TV.

    I expect both of them to start ramping up advertisement in the Nov. timeframe as we start getting into the holiday shopping season. The hardcore gamers are all aware and have their decisions already made. They want to make the most out of their advertising dollars so that means Holiday advertisements starting Nov 1st. Going out hard before this will be wasting money.

    Don't blow smoke up my ass. I don't believe for a second that MS didn't have this date planned for within a week or two. It was used as a crutch in the comments above, now that crutch is snatched away. That said, as I mentioned in my comments I don't think it's a big deal at all as this early of advertisement will not have any significant impact on holiday/launch sales and so I expect to see the real advert campaigns starting on Nov 1st.

    Microsoft is being troubled by heay miss management, left right and centre SONY has had the PS4 and its sales campaign planned.

    PS4 has little to no competition.

    Could've sworn I replied to this post.

    If you go back, I said that they likely weren't certain about the launch date. The most common time for any console to have a launch date is at E3...and they skipped Gamescon as well. Up until I made this thread, I was assuming that the launch date was already announced...then I looked it up.

    Of course they must have known a week or two ago, did I argue about that? Now we know. Of course they didn't just find out yesterday themselves as well.

    Would you have known anything until yesterday? One can only speculate that if they are going to launch it this year and it's already September, they probably aren't sure about something.

    I'm not sure what the argument is over.

    I actually thought that was sort of interesting. That sounds cool as a media player for people who like streaming...where roku and other media players are popular but with many other apps. So sort of like a mini-windows device.

    Sony is a bigger company than Microsoft they own television, movie studios, theme parks, make leading brand consumer electronics for over 60 years, own music labels, have over a thousand sub divisions you name it.

    Sony has the money to do whatever they want this is why they can sell PS3 at a loss and pretend it's nothing because so many other divisions can foot the expense.

    Sony has the power! and they have been in the game longer!!

    They both actually have about the same money. Just that people don't look at all divisions of Sony as Sony.

    But i realized that the reason why PS4 was being advertised more was because the release date was known for it and X1's wasn't.

    Now i'm seeing the same amount from both but still haven't seen actual commercials...then again, i don't watch much hulu or TV.

    If they keep on spending on stuff like Fantasy football and certain NFL licenses then no it won't last that long. That $1 billion they were talking about already has a huge chunk taken out of it. They did the same exact thing with the 360. instead of building up good first party studios, they decide to fork over millions and millions for DLC that honestly didn't create such a huge impact when pitting both the PS3 and Xbox360 on the side. Even the PS3 was still climbing in sales.

    MS has a budget for games, you don't think so then you are looking at Microsoft in a completely wrong manner. might want to take those goggles off and understand that companies will have a budget. MS has around $1 billion for games, they said that. however, a huge chunk of that money went to the NFL and EA. If you don't think corporations can spend $1 billion within 2 to 3 years, think again. That money should have been for creating strong first party studios.
