    New to ff:AAR any advice?

Hi just gotten the game, still getting used tot he map as it ocassional makes it difficult to locate some things.

Those that have a little more expierence with the game any advice? Im level 4 atm and loving the game.

Altho the whole raptor, combo thing has me a little confused. When attacking using O the X combat button will have a yellow box around the outside and it will frequently have combo xxx seconds left on the bottom right and im not sure what thats all about.

    Thanks guys

I take it you are playing as a pugilist? Well, the yellow-dashed borders around the ability boxes are indeed combos. So you need to open up with bootshine to use that one-inch punch (or w/e the level 3 thing is). Later on different skills will put you in different stances which allow you to combo certain moves. Some classes (Gladiator off the top of my head) you can use the combo feature to enhance the skills or independantly, meaning you don't need an opener.

The timer near the exp bar is for chaining bonuses while leveling. If you kill 5 bees over 5 minutes you might get 100 exp/per kill = 500 exp. But if you chain them 5 bees in 90 seconds will yield you bonus exp (100 exp then 110, then 118, then 125.... you get the idea)

If i recall correctly there is a pop up help thing for the monk skills in the game since they can be kind of confusing. If it doesn't seem like something you'll like, just hang in till you are level 10/15 and you can do a quest that unlocks other classes. Just have fun and follow the story for now since it helps you unlock other cities and features of the game.
