Im slightly disappointed. Switching to LCD, they made the speakers look hell cheap with the honeycomb design, added an ugly frame to the screen.

Thread: Slim vita and multiple colors
On current Vita, you cannot play outdoors, because the screen is too dark, even in its lightest setting. This is very sad, actually, as it should be one of the most important advantages of a mobile console.
If the new screen will have brighter light, I might get one and sell my older one.
I'll have to at least get one to try it out... I'm not sold on it right now.
Honestly I don't really like the colors. Why can't it just be all one solid color? Why the Half-white look? Am I the only one who doesn't find it very appealing? Sure it's not terrible but it isn't something I'd really be that proud about. I do like the Black and tan combo color though.
I agree with you, there are solid black and solid white available too I think, but I really wanted the dark blue one like the OG. I'll probably wait for a LE of something though like my PSP2000.
Comparison article at 4gamer.
There is a noticeable but very small downgrade with regards to colors:
Biggest difference are between the light blue.
Black is MUCH more noticeable:
Overall however not such a major difference:
Interestingly however, the 2000 seems to have a faster frame rewrite resulting in less ghosting:
(16 frames comparison)
So overall minimal differences really, still not sure if this is an IPS LCD panel though.

Yeah the new one is looking more and more the superior modelI wonder when a nuclear warhead goes off, does the frame rate of real life drop?
The black is the only clear victory OLED has really, plus the reliability and durability of LCD, it's a very small trade off IMO. And for someone who hasn't owned a Vita 1000 and upgrading to a Vita 2000, it's still a much better LCD panel. Just sucks the 1GB storage is completely useless since it can't be used alongside a Memory card.
Yes & Yes & I agree lol
But even if you stick to retail only, you can't play KZ:M on it unless you don't update the game. They really shouldve put 2GB in there so you can play any game fully updated.
Why can't they just give 2gigs or more like the 3DS? Honestly, they'd make more sales off digital games. I've bought several games on my 3DS that were digital just because I could. If I had to buy a memory card it's highly unlikely I'd have bought anything digital. Most big game patches are 600mb and up so for the Vita I had to get a memory card. They should have just stuck with the original PSP memory stick seriously.
And yeah why the hell isn't the 1gig bulit-in? Makes it completely useless as said before.
It is built in, it just can't be used on top of a memory card. So if you have a 64GB card, you don't have 65GB (you don't anyway since you'll only get about 56GBish on a 64GB card).
Well then it being bulit-in is pretty useless. It's most likely reserved for system updates in case someone never gets a memory card.
