    PS4 Preorder Question

So i preordered my PS4 through Rombie.com (seem to be only place left that is not sold out) and i am wondering what the best and cheapest place to get preorder accessories for the PS4? Was looking at Gamestop but there prices are kinda high. Any place cheaper?

You probably won't find the accessories any cheaper anywhere else...

Yeah, i was going to suggest Amazon.com. At launch the accessories will probably sell for the same price everywhere but Amazon seems to have deals faster than anyone.

The only plus side to that though is that they are now building two warehouses in the DFW area! One of them is in Haslet, TX (1.1 million sq/ft warehouse which is like 10 minutes from me) and the other is in Coppell, TX (1 million sq/ft warehouse)...so can you say next day delivery on almost everything, and maybe in the near future we will start seeing same day delivery!

Yeah, they are .03 cheaper than Gamestop for the DS4, add on the additional sales tax from Gamestop.

    For me:

    Amazon: DS4 - $59.96
    GStop: DS4 - $64.19

Not to mention shipping through gamestop or fuel cost to drive there and back.

F34R, Amazon.com isn't tax free for everyone. There are a dozen states that have forced Amazon.com to start paying sales tax. Unfortunately my state is one of them, started paying sales tax just over a year ago on all Amazon.com purchases.

Indeed I used to love Amazon and it sucks that they did that here in TX.

Hello, I am in the same boat you were, I couldn't find any pre-orders until I found rombie.com. I would like to know if you guys think its safe, it seems odd that they still have pre-orders, I would really like to not get scammed out of nearly $500

I just pre-ordered at rombie.com. Well, I really hope that it is a reliable store. You guys have any info about it? I bought just the console for 400 dollars and paid 15 dollars for an overnight shipping.

I sort of agree with everyone else; because this is a new generation you won't find them cheap anywhere.

Really? Everyone just bipassed my and now his question?

Can anyone provide input on the legitimacy of this place?

I really do not want to get scammed and this seems like a hot product for them to do it with.

I have not heard of the company up until this thread, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are a shady company...

Given I've never heard of them, and the only references I can find to them are some recent post about people able to get launch day on this gen. It has made me wonder about their legitimacy.

There Contact us and About Us links don't have any direct contact information. No phone numbers, no addresses, only a web based message interface.

So I went to the Better Business Bureau to see if they've heard of them. Rombie and Rombie games comes up with nothing.

They appear to only be supporting Next Gen consoles and games and I assume they're very new on the market. And giving that nothing of Next Gen has been released yet, they haven't shipped anything to anyone, so nobody can really vouch for their legitimacy.

Personally I'd not be putting my trust in this site. While it looks professional and organized we really know nothing about them. And a good scamming site will look professional and organized.

    Good Luck

EDIT: A little looking into their DNS and Rombie.com was registered this year through Godaddy.com so no real extra information there. Anyone with a credit card can register a Domain via Godaddy.com and there's no information on who actually registered the domain.

Hmm above post makes me wonder and I'm thinking about canceling my pre-order, but I don't see any option for that. I already emailed them and asked if its possible to cancel it.

Based on TAZ's info, I would report my card as stolen and get a new card! Seems very sketchy to me...

Thank you MonkeyClaw for your response. I will keep my pre-order. In the worst scenario, the company turns out to be total scam, charges me for console and doesn't send it. What can I do recover my money if this happens?

The only thing I think you could do is report the card as stolen and hope the credit card company refunds the charge. Good luck, and after the 15th if you are still active on the forum, let us know how everything went! I am always up for new gaming equipment sources!

The guy said that it won't charge my card until the console ships. In addition, I don't have too much funds on my card currently but if nobody will confirm their legitimacy in these few days, I will do it.

If you do decide to keep your order with them, just monitor your credit card to make sure fraudulent charges don't start showing up. I may be completely paranoid, and it might be a 100% legit company, but better safe than sorry!
