Need some Help, someone keeps hacking my email accounts REP to anyone who helps

I had an email account in the past and it got hacked. I couldn't recover the account. The crazy thing about it is the hacker isn't even using the account. It's just idle.

So now I have a new email account and it's been hacked. I was able to recover it and now the hacker is at it again. I just changed my password today.

I'm tired of having to change my password. What can I do? I know the account is being hacked when the current password doesn't work the first time and I have to re enter the password over and over again to get in.

    I am using hotmail.

Who should I go to? Computer repair services? Computer tech?

    Thank you.

As posted above stop using "free" mail services or at least use a better option like www.hushmail.com.

Next, it sounds like you need a secure password. Minimum of 10 characters, best if a randomly generated mix of upper and lower-case with numbers and symbols. The more difficult to remember and bigger pain in the ass it is the more secure it is. Brute-force key crackers work based of possible combinations so give them too many.

If you're having this much of a problem it sounds like you've made a new "friend," especially if they aren't using your account as generally the hijack them and turn them into spambots. My wife had a similar problem and now she uses a secure work-provided address that has more securoty features and she hasn't had a problem. That is probably your best option if possible, as the above-poster mentioned, a ISP provided account.

Edit for another thought: have you ran a good spyware and virus sweep lately? Maybe infected with a trojan or keylogger?

How about "gmail"? Is it any better? If it isn't, I'll use that hushmail you provided.

It sucks I'm going to have to change my personal email AGAIN. I was hoping you guys could give a solution in which I wouldn't have to move all my stuff.

I think the only thing you can do is make a secure password.

Hell my hotmail password is 16 characters long and a $#@! to type in sometimes lol

Not sure what method the hacker is using to get Black Wolf's password so I have to ask, how is signing up for email under hushmail or the ISP going to stop it from happening?

Recommending an alternative doesn't sound like a solution to the problem she is having to me. What if she encounters the same with hushmail/ISP email? What's the guarantee that it won't happen there?

@BlackWolf - I use gmail and I haven't had any issues such as this but take that for what it is. You need to figure out how exactly your password is getting to the hacker first. My friend uses hotmail and he doesn't have this issue so I am not sure if it is because of the provider you are using.

It could be something on your computer that is giving the "hacker" remote access to your account, logging key strokes, etc., OR they just have the password because you're using a simple one.

If ti keeps happening then you probably have a trojan on your computer.

do scan with malwarebytes or something similar.

I use keepass to generate long passwords and store them.

Also, if you use a smartphone and access the email via that, you could have something on there giving them access to your email account.

Try a very strong password. Something like %U69_4Hvdh7@31/.

If your account gets hacked again then follow the solution above and download a couple good malware removers.

A 10 character password with a combination of normal letters and characters in different cases should be enough to prevent bruteforcing. That of course won't help if you have a keylogger on your system. If you're using windows make sure your antivirus is something decent like avg and not something $#@!e like sophos and keep it up to date. Also install something like sbybot and use that. Don't use internet explorer as your browser. If you want to make sure your computer is completely free of that kind of malware then format your hdd and reinstall your os.
Golden rule, keep everything up to date.

warez sites and things like kazaa, emule, limewire etc are riddled with malware. If you use torrent sites you should always read the comments before downloading.

Or get a better virus program, I use Avast currently and it generally always blocks suspicious files and that. (Even tells me a websites "rating". Dont go to them if there isnt one, or its not green :P)

There are many possibilities: Maybe you let out your password but you didn't realized; Maybe your information was stealed by hacker; Maybe someone install keylogger software on your computer.
Scan Virus then install an anti keylogger software then change your password.
