    Anyone disappointed by the soundtrack?

First of all I'm loving the game. One glaring flaw that is bothering me is the soundtrack. I'm not digging it at all. The rock station only has a few songs that I care for and the other stations downright suck IMO. I've never had a problem with the other games soundtracks but they dropped the ball bad IMO. Another thing is, why is there not a modern hard rock station. Way too much pop and hip hop. I like some of the songs from those stations but how did they just completely ignore this genre. The punk station surely doesn't feed this desire. So far this game would be a perfect 10 otherwise.

I didn't care for VI a lot but I didn't hate it. This one just isn't getting it done for me. But I agree, they aren't as good as the past.

Terrible soundtrack indeed. The radio stays off. Wish they let me put my own stuff on there. Not a fan of the pop and the hip hop stuff.

That would have been ideal. Would have been sweet if they could allow for custom soundtracks and randomly played commercials from other stations between a couple songs.

You can't please everyone, though 240 songs is a lot. IV and V take place in a different era than the III trilogy. I haven't played V yet, but I enjoyed IV. Talk shows are my favourite things to listen though.

I only listen to FlyLO FM which even features one of my fave songs Machinedrum - She Died There, and I also lock in on Worldwide FM to listen to Cashmere Cat - Mirror Maru.

I thought it was quite decent compared to IV but nowhere near vice city. San andreas soundtrack I guess was slightly better though.

The soundtrack isn't terrible but it's not great either. Would've been amazing if they implemented a custom soundtrack or even if they stole the mixtape idea from Saints Row so at least you could listen to songs you like the whole time you're driving.

Both those are set in the past. One in the 80s, the other in the 90s so you are bound to prefer those eras because you grew up wth soem of those tracks and got drunk, stoned had your first kiss, got laid to them or what ever.

    Nostalgia I think its called.

These newer tracks do not give such memories because they are new and never been herd before by yoursel.

Also it might just plain suck balls.

doesn't matter, it's all about what defines the era

nothing made more of an impact for me that cruising down the main strip in VC, on a bike, as the sun was setting, listening to the theme tune to miami vice. every song on that soundtrack evoked a memory from that period.

    same with SA.

there has been nothing with the lat 2 installments that grabs me in the same way.

the only thing that sticks in my mind about IV is

    eins zwei drei...

can you honestly remember the entire IV sountrack?

I can't remember a single song on the IV soundtrack. They really didn't go wrong with any soundtrack decision for the PS2 era. III was probably my favorite followed by Vice City.

In V I'm loving Rebel Radio. Non Stop Pop and West Coast Classics ain't bad either.

It would have been nice though to have a station with music like MGMT, Foster the People and Owl City. That would make for some great driving around music and would fit the area.

You're supporting his point, nostalgia has a big impact. Music has a bigger impact on you at a younger age, and at a certain point it stops evolving.

There's a lot of songs I got from IV.

I usually keep the radio stations off unless I do some kind of heist and want to hear about it on the radio. I like listening to the sounds of the city while I'm driving around.

That's understandable but why not try to create a soundtrack for almost everyone. It's a huge genre that is completely missing. I hate most pop and hip hop. Its heavily geared for most of the new age popular $#@!.
