Just finished the story campaign... Rather underwhelmed.

I generally enjoyed the game, would give it 7/10

I think the "Heists" were very few and far between. Probably 3 actual bank robberies in the whole game. The rest is doing stupid government missions disguised as "Heists", each one felt like a rinse and repeat.. You only use your crew maybe twice or thrice max.

But my biggest disappointment is the really small number of enterable buildings, there is very little to do, and the very small number of characters. City feels anemic and small, as though they are holding the missions/content back. The purchasing of property, I feel is tacked on in my opinion.

What I did like : The Heists are spectacular! and the Wanted system is vastly superior and well designed compared to previous iterations. + The beautiful detailed cities, but again its just window dressing.

Maths is biased! It keeps telling me the PS4 is 50% more powerful than XboxOne!

I agree with a lot of what you say, in some ways Im a bit disappointed in the game myself. I for sure expected more heists, and I think properties - like LS Customs - should of played a part in the missions if you owned it.

Im getting a lil mad at the game right now though, more than once I'd drive across the damn map only for the side mission I was going for would disappear. Sometimes it wouldnt even come back no matter how far away I drove..

I'm only 20 % through the story but I agree about the buildings not really being able to be explored. Of course most GTA games haven't really had much exploring outside of the game world.

its shocking really - it has less interiors than GTA 4! yet they spoke about how huge it is due to the unprecedented number of interiors in the map during all those gameinformer previews. Well the penny has ****ing dropped - They always give exclusive first previews to gameinformer, cuz they sip that koolade without question.

You can't enter a cluckin bell or burger shot/up n atom. No eating. Can't invite another character to your home, only 2 TV channels, very little content, No comedy clubs, can't enter any bars, even when on a hangout.

And I'm going to have to say this... only 1 strip club in the whole state?! there's at least 2 others but they are not enterable.

Vespucci beach - Massive open air GYM on the beach... Peds working out.. i go to the equipment aaand Nothing.

Can't ****ing work out! i have to play golf and do yoga to increase my physical strength.

I can't believe they sacrificed all that stuff from gta 4 and san andreas. But fricken car washes and Yoga made it in.

I was surprised that a bunch of the stuff from SA didn't make it in. Like you mentioned. Eating and working out were two glaring absences. But other than that stuff in thoroughly enjoying it.

Yeah I was really enjoying it early on but as I got further in I didnt even feel compelled to finish it. And I noticed alot of the same things that the op did. The radio stations all suck too btw. What a crappy soundtrack. This GTA felt more like a quick cash in.

I share the sentiment that the story sorta' ends with a simmer rather than a bang, and that there's not enough heists - especially for something that is supposedly central to the game. The damn casino's there for christ's sake - do one in that! Still, there's so much to do and explore that it hasn't deterred me from still thinking the game's one of the best this generation and probably the most ambitious.

Yet you make very strong statements about how good the game is without even having completed it.

I really wasn't disappointed by interiors because I skipped any news so didn't have that hype, but agree with the disappointment.

I really thought we'd at least be able to enter food places, instead of just 24/7 marts. When I saw the strength stat I thought for sure we'd be able to work out.

I also don't know why the other strip clubs can't be entered. I was really looking forward to seeing what kind of girls they put in the one in Paleto Bay.

The heists were the biggest disappointment for me. When it was brought up I thought I'd be able to set up various ones with whoever I wanted and wherever I wanted. They should have added a variety of ones you could do after the story mode and give them respawn times of something like 14 in-game days and paying out smaller amounts.

No, they have 500MB to work with. Could you point me to a game that does it better?

EDIT: I believe the reason why they made less interiors is because they wanted to put more focus on environments, which are useful online. so their focus was more towards online activities.

once people are done with SP, they don't go back into these places, they wanna stay outside with other players. so they focused more on outdoor activities...also ones that you can enjoy with other online players.

they only had 500MBs to work with and they have accomplished so much...i think we should cut them a slack. i get the complaints but they clearly maxed out the console with what we have.

Skyrim manages multitudes of interiors + Vast environments just fine. GTA V Microtran$hafting can go to hell.

It's the way they advertised the game - first trailer with people working out at the gym, Properties going up for sale, That half built skyscraper. The promises in all those preview articles. their claim that Los Santos is a huge spralling metropolis - Complete and utter bull$h*t. The cityscape of the GTA IV feels bigger and more immersive.

I reckon they are witholding the safehouses/properties for online where they are going to gouge us for every penny.

Have you read the article from Rockstar? You don't have to pay real money for anything, everything is available to every player.

The micro transactions are there for people who want instant gratification or people who don't really have the time to spend countless hours making their mark on the online world.

Of course a lot is being withheld for the online mode.

Here is a quote from Rockstar:

Reputation and Cash Flow: Reputation is earned from all your online exploits in everything you do in GTA Online – and will help you rank up, providing access to new features, weapons and criminal contacts. Spend cash you’ve gained on cars, clothes, guns, properties and much more. You can either quickly accumulate cash through profitable activities like knocking over armored cars, winning street races, doing stick-ups or a host of other cash-making endeavors – or if you’re the completely instant gratification type, you can choose to buy denominations of GTA$. You will have the option to purchase GTA$ through the in-game Store. The game and its economy have been designed and balanced for the vast majority of players who will not buy extra cash. There is no in-game paywall and nothing that should disrupt the balance of the game. You don’t have to spend real money to attain the cars, guns, clothes, flash and style of a high-roller in Los Santos, but can if you wish to get them a little quicker. The economy is balanced differently from the single player economy, and cash earned in one cannot be taken over to the other. Most players will earn cash much faster Online than in Story Mode.

Ha! So it's not just me that didn't wet themselves when playing the game.

I'm not going to hate on it like jerk-off, but I think it was hyperboled too much. I agree that it makes no sense to increase physical strength by playing sports, such as tennis or golf. It would have been great to have a gym to work out in again like in SA.

I'm very disappointed to hear that there's only three robbery heists... Hopefully Online will make up some of this loss.

you can't compare skyrim to GTA5. the two games are so vastly different. but if you do want to compare. do understand that there's nothing to do in skyrim, there's a lot more stuff you can do in GTA5. not to mention, Skyrim barely had cities. more like blocks.

i understand that you didn't find what you were looking for but the amount of time they spent on outside environments, it's unprecedented.

they can't please everyone. their focus is online this time around.

The only thing that i didn't really like is the amount of heists you do and the amount of money you make by the end of the game.

    Good luck with that!!

You can't make enough money to buy any decent business by the end of the game. Maybe just one or two.
