"There's no scale down in quality, especially the next-gen versions," Morin said, discussing some of the negative reaction to recent trailers with us at Eurogamer Expo this afternoon. "It's pretty much the opposite. What we showed at E3 2012 in a lot of respects was less good. I think it's in the details. So no, there's no scale down."

Nevertheless, Morin doesn't appear to be worried about Grand Theft Auto 5's technical achievements lessening the impact of Watch Dogs.

"I don't build games with that in mind," he said. "To me, I make a game. I don't make a technical... I think that the level of fidelity that the city has in Watch Dogs is pretty much unprecedented.

True enough. There are some conclusions being drawn based on rumors. To be fair though it doesn't help that the creative director can't give clear answers (or simply doesn't know what resolutiuon the game will run at). However that doesn't mean anything at this point. Besides, even if the game is 720 and 30fps it could still end up looking amazing and playing great. I'd rather have my next gen games at 1080 and 60fps but we aren't alwayd going to get that. It should be strived for but a game could still be da bomb without meeting those numbers.

On topic: It's still going to look better and be a better version than the current gen. I think the game looks good anyway, and will enjoy it whether it does end being good in general... not because of resolution.

That's what it really comes down to for me. If the game is intriguing and fun the resolution will take a back seat. Being that the game will likely look good and play well regardless (granted 1080 is better than 720 and 60 FPS is better than 30) I don't think this issue is going to bother me much.

Maybe it's a marketing thing. Like, release a safer thing first then give the full shabang months later? I don't know, I never understand these things!

This thread is full on whiney little kids. Guess what? Kz3 ran at 30fps/720p and it looked amazing. Better than some other crappy ass games that ran at higher settings. Stop caring about numbers and focus on how it plays and looks in person.

To you it's fine. Not everyone wants to play with a low resolution and slow/choppy frame rate. That can be enough to ruin a game experience for many people.

Nice nice to hear this will be 1080p, and I can under stand the view point, but to be honest with that mindset they could be making it 480p. A trade-off for fidelity, but unacceptable this day.

Honestly speaking I'm pretty certain this game is 1080p since all the videos released (PC or PS4) have been 1080p. I don't know if that was upscaled since I can't tell.

Dynamic resolution is going to be a thing next gen (more so than it was this gen) many games will change resolutions on the fly to compensate for action on screen like Dead Rising 3 for example

KZ3 looked and played better than any cod game. COD games run at 60fps too. Stop being ignorant.

Honestly...I don't care if it's in 1080p or 720p. As long as the detail is there and plays well...hopefully not a choppy 30fps.

Mostly, though, what I'm concerned about is the pop ups. I HATE pop ups. If this game has too many of them...I'm returning the game and will not leave my Gamestop until it happens.

    30fps choppy?
Before PS4 we saw most games being 30fps <
    Where as with PS4 it'll be 30fps >

GTAV often hits below 30FPS but it doesn't take anything away from the game.

Someone clearly plays too many games that are 60+ frames per second (or is just hoggwash)

If it's 720p@30 you have to wonder wtf Ubisoft are playing at. Along with the insane recommended PC specs and the fact it doesn't even look that good, you have to think this is one of the worst optimised games of all time.

really? I'm under the impression ther may be a lot going on in real time in this game versus what we're used to.... then ther is the slight possibility that they are just spread so thin they can't optimise it properly on any one platform. The latter is highly unlikely though.

In your opinion it did. To me CoD was the best feeling shooter this generation because it stuck to 60fps. it might not have looked as great but it sure as hell played better than KZ3. As I said, to some, not all, gamers frame rate is important. There is only one of us being ignorant here.

720p30 is going to disappointing for the ps4 version. Yes there's good detail in the city but even on that i feel there is a slight downgrade. I remember one of the earlier vids of a rain soaked city at night time, the gfx dont look that jaw dropping in the recent vids. I hope they can hit 1080p resolution on this. I'd expect 720p30 for the ps3 and 360 versions.

Will get the PS3 version in that case, seems like it's not so much a "next gen" game afterall.
