    I like them both!
If I had to pick...first party for sure.
The way I see it is:
First party = all about pushing the hardware and pleasing themselves (ther're vision over what's popular)
3rd party = all about pushing there next iteration of the same game out before the years out. More about pleasing there wallets than there fan base.
Of course that's my generalization of it all, but rings quite true in a lot of cases.

    First-Party vs Thrid-Party Games

Can't quote for definite as my games are spread about with different people borrowing them. I'm sure a bigger split of my PS3 games were 3rd party but now as I think about it I had a few of the exclusives. Not many though.

    Resistance 1 & 2
    Uncharted 1 & 2
    LittleBigPlanet
    Killzone 2
    Motorstorm 1 & 2
    MGS4
    GT:P

Off the top of my head they're the exclusives I can remember buying

There is only Nintendo Universe that first party surpass third party, and it is ugly. So I don't see a way somebody wishing that

In general I the best experiences I've had have been on the First Party games, but it has to be the right first party games. Uncharted and Infamous games are the right ones for me. Killzone while it's fun isn't something I'm going to pay $60 for (I'll wait until it's in the bargain bin and then buy it - though it does look awesome graphically.) Same goes for Knack, while it looks like a fun game and I'll most likely buy it eventually, for me it's not something I'm going to spend $60 on. And don't get me wrong, I don't necessarily think that Sony is pushing out the wrong exclusives at Launch, they're just not the ones I wanted personally.

I'll get Infamous Second Son day one, but it's not a launch title so for the launch tiles I actually went w/ WD and ACIV as well.

EDIT: Added PS3 Exclusives I own

    Infamous 1 & 2
    Uncharted 1, 2 and 3
    Resistance 1 & 2
    LittleBigPlanet 1 & 2
Ratchet and Clank (all 4 of them)
    Killzone 2 & 3
    Motorstorm 1, 2 & 3
    MGS4
    GT:P, GT5
    GoW: Collection and III
    Heavy Rain
    Mod Nation Racers
Riiiiiddddggeee Raaaaaceeer 7!!!! (Had to be done - game sucked ass BTW)
    Warhawk
