HDD easier to swap than PS3

It is very easy and there is no soft screw like on the PS3 to snap

Good news, I hated that small blue screw with a passion.

Why? Sure, load times would be increased but the amount of space you get per isn't really worth it for a storage medium. In my eyes. if it fits i'll probably get a 10,000 rpm Western Digital Velociraptor and get a 1TB

I wouldn't have described it as hard, it was one screw An elastic band made it easy to do without stripping the head.

that blue screw was a $#@! because it would strip and it was such an odd size. A better quality screw would have been much better as it wouldn't strip so easily and it would be a normal size for a phillips head screwdriver.

Its all down to using the right screw driver and application of force. I had no issues with 2 blue screws.

Lovely news. If it's easier why not? There's no confirmation yet regarding which drives will actually work is there?

Actually, I think the material make up was the reason for that screw's stripping and threading. If memory serves me right, it felt too soft for its own good. Take that and add on the fact that it was machined screwed in and it wasn't really fun to mess with.

It would be cool as hell if the PS4 was able to hot-swap.

The screw was indeed a pain but if you had the right sized screwdriver it worked fine and dandy.
I used my glasses screwdriver set could with a pair of pliers to get more leverage because the the drivers are small and thin, the teeth of the pliers fit in the grooves on the shaft of the driver so wouldn't slip.

After you get it out once there is no need for the screw, I left mine out.

i think moving up the next Gen a lot of games will benefit from an SSD as opposed to this gen, that's why i will get an SSD. Space is not really an issue, since i can just delete whatever i finished.

I'm almost certain I read PS4 will not support SSD because the HDD is not a SSD so no way to install it, unless you mod your PS4.

Sorry I am a hard drive noob. But what are the benefits of adding a SSD? I would like to get a HD for my PS4 but I am just not sure what to get. All I know if I want as much space as I can buy and the PS4 will handle. 2-3TB if possible.

Sorry i didn't understand a word from what you just said!

the PS4 has a normal 2.5" HDD any 2.5" SSD will work.

I'm actually considering an SSHD, I just don't know if the PS4 will accept it yet. Still researching.
