Do you think sports games are too hyped ?

I think it depends on the game

Not really, excitement is pretty much reflected upon each respective sport's fans. Which is why Madden and FIFA are the loudest; FIFA due to being huge (soccer) and Madden/Gridiron due to loud Yanks .

For some reason, NBA games don't seem to have as much visibility compared to Madden, despite B-Ball being a more 'global sport'.

    #IndieStation4 and proud of it.

I guess it depends on who your friends are. It is rare that I even hear about sports games.

Im not sure i understand what you mean by "hyped".

Sports games are big franchises that sell a ton of copies every year. Especially Fifa and Madden simply because theres a huge fanbase for those sports, and almost any of those sports fans that have a console, are pretty much guarenteed to buy a copy.

Personally, as stupid as i am for doing it, i still buy MLB The Show every year on both the Vita and PS3. Next year, ill certainly be dropping the PS3 version, as ill have upgraded to the PS4 at launch. I love them. I wish they would do 20 or 30 dollar updates you can buy each year instead of a brand new 60 dollar game, but ill pay it every year until they implement something like that, considering how much time and effort gets put into MLB The Show every year.

If you have friends who into specific sport then you will understand. Me & My friends tolerated the garbage called PES this gen. because it's so much fun playing together and taunting each other.

I loved football games when they were arcade style, not a wannabe football-simulation.

I haven't played a sports game since NFL blitz.

Yes. My friends are into FIFA but I have honestly never seen the appeal. I rarely played myself, it's interesting sometimes but for me.. meh.

But what does a yearly release actually achieve and why
