Considering the X1 controller is improved in this area over the 360 controller (and that had no input lag issues), I'm going to take this with a very large grain of salt.

could be a glitch, unfinished code, or the game. it doesn't say anything about the controller itself. input lag has been about the same since consoles have existed.

Subjective. We'll know if thats still true or not next gen when gamers get their hands on the DS4 and X1 controllers and compare.

So, there is controller lag in the beta of Battlefield 4 on the xbox one. I guess when you see one instance in a beta game, that means it is the same for every game after it's out of beta and retail released. smh

Not concerned about it one bit. xbox360 controller was great. This one just improves on it. All they have to had to do is fix the dpad IMo and it looks like they did. I expect ds4 to be better than ds3 but xb1 to still come out on top because of the improved analogs and new rumble triggers.

I'm not "concerned about it one bit" either. lol Its just a discussion but you sound pretty closeminded about it. Anyway, some people prefer the Xbox controller and some people prefer the PS controller. No big deal. As for next gen controllers from what I've seen of the DS4 it looks like it will be really comfortable for me so I'm looking forward to some hands on with it. I wont be able to do a PS4/XBone controller comparison though since I'm not buying an XBone. But I've heard good things about both controllers.

More than likely this is the Killzone effect of player weight and graphical processing adding to the micro delay.

Well from looking at the .gif provided in the source, he is testing the input lag by using the left analog for the characters movement. This in my mind could be very wrong due to the developer purposefully adding a small amount of input lag into the character movement to give the illusion of weight. What I would assume to be more accurate is to test the right analog stick for aiming or any of the other buttons such as firing, jumping, meleeing, ect...

    are you a paraphrasing bot?
This guy is using the movement stick (left analog), which is a TERRIBLE way to test input lag.
The proper method has always been to test input lag by moving the aiming stick (right analog), or to press the fire button. This is because the delay you see in your character's movement may just be an intentional developer implementation to add more weight and physicality to the animations of your character and his movements.

Probably the TV + BF4 being in beta. Who knows. But I don't think it'll apply in all games.

    Much appreciated, thanks

Like most, I'll chalk it down on unfinished code. We're still a 1 1/2 month away from release (IT'S COMING!!!) there's plenty of time to iron out the kinks.

I cant see the controller having lag. Its too integral to consoles.

If they got the original Xbox and 360 without lag I'm assuming they wont have any issue with X1.

Buddy who made that video clip also said the bumper and triggers don't have a separation! And the dpad being inside the controller makes it harder to find
The controller is very, very, very unergonomical compared to X360. It's smaller, the feeling is kind of like you are using a DualShock3.The move distance of sticks is a little bit smaller, than the one in X360. I really thought about PS Vita sticks while playing.Bumpers are totally connected to triggers. There isn't any piece of plastic (like in DS4) in-between trigger and bumper (clearly seen on video I edited in) so in 30-40% maybe you would miss the trigger and hit the bumper. The vibration is a lot less than on X360.The D-Pad is deepened into controller and it's really awkward. As in X360, DS3, DS4 it's slightly above the surface of controller. So while you try to press it on XBO gamepad moving your left thumb down from left stick you hit nothing, then you have to spend a second to find d-pad and actually press it. Really strange. In order for you to not think that I am biased - I was the biggest basher of DS3 ever and also a huge fun of X360 gamepad

nope nope, that delay is from BF4. BF3 had that crap at first and they had to patch the game because of it. That right there is all dice. It seems just like aim acceleration plus delay. That is exactly what Killzone 2 had. I hated that game because of it. you had to straff in order to get precise shots. lol

the beta on PS3 is working fine. it's actually better than BF3 in that regard. so it's probably just an [inefficiency in code] affecting either X1 or for both next-gen consoles.

I don't need a hands on. xbox360 controller and ds3 tells me all I need to know. Both are basically the same with improvements.

So a bad build of BF4 that is laggy? Still though if they are having trouble with the XBone version at this point that's not good
