Turtle Beach saving the day at PS4 launch

I know there was a bit of bad news regarding headset compatibility but TB are on it. Is anyone going to bother with headsets given that the PS4 comes with a basic headset prepacked?

Not good really for the average Joe. Expensive headsets. Expect some for the ps4 to actually be announced soon for wider audience.

I'll probably upgrade to a Bluetooth style one. Though I could continue to use my excusing ps3 Bluetooth one if it is supported

I think that if I were a fan of using headsets (which I'm not) that I would just use the packed in one until they roll out support for the others. Not the greatest thing in the world to do, but freaking out over a driver roll out won't change anything.

It's just bluetooth wireless headsets that have an issue right? I don't really like wireless headsets, the batteries don't last long enough, and I'm not keen to buy an expensive enough headset to get one that sounds worth it, so I use a pretty cheap USB headset that gets the job done.

It's just an analog headset right?
Any analog headset will work at launch,
it's just the ones that rely on USB or Bluetooth that have the issue.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

The headset for PS4 looks awful i'l be defo picking up a different one, Pretty sure Sony are selling a proper headset so will most likely go with that...Hopefully they end up putting the decent headset in the box.

Don't be silly.... just use the one that comes in the box, less lag... even more so if you're like me and use a wired controller most of the time, I prefer a long USB cable plugged into my PS3 and I will do same on PS4, that way voice and controller go straight to the system rather than over Blutooth not that there's anything wrong with the blutooth, it's just cabled is just higher quality all round.

Don't want to be the bearer of bad news but Turtle Beach headsets are junk, I've owned two pairs of the PX5's and I don't recommend this brand to anyone, major interference in most environments will make these headsets absolutely useless and will cut into the sound quality drop outs and stupid popping noises appear from time to time and the mic is very basic, I think my $10 USB sing-star mics do a better job at capturing my voice, actual speaker drivers are very poor quality for something around the $250 mark you'd expect it to sound a little more BOSE if you know what I mean, there's no deep bass and clear treble with the Turtle Beach headsets and the virtual surround sound isn't anywhere near true 3D STEREO, you'd be better off waiting and finding out what's coming to the market rather than being stuck with TURTLE BEACH.

if i were getting it on launch, i'd use the prepacked one but i use mine as a headphone as well so just one more thing for me to wait a couple of months. but more importantly, i'm waiting to see if PS2 will be out at launch or when it will be.

I'll be picking up a Steelseries Syberia Elite when it launches or close to it. My G35's ear pads are decimated and Logitech simply doesn't have any way of replacing them. I'm slowly moving away from Logitech too and the new Steelseries headset seems like it's going to be amazing, just waiting on the reviews first. Anything USB should work too so there shouldn't be a problem that way.

If some of you do want to go bluetooth still or even wireless then just use a dongle.

Glad that my TB will work when the PS4 gets to my house.

From the article... just might need a slight edit lol:

The PS4 launches on November 15 in the U.S. and November 289 in Europe. It will ship with a mono headset and a post-launch update will allow users to take advantage of Sony’s PULSE headsets

I'm assuming that all USB headsets will work as long as they work driver-less. Some headsets can use drivers too but don't necessarily require them.

It should be noted...that on Turtle Beach's website...under the PS4 tab....it says something like "Compatability subject to testing with final version of the console".

So even they don't really know. At least thats what it said on my iphone about 1 hour ago.

I'll just use my Official PS3 headset. It works through a wireless USB device. I should be good to go at launch.

I don't really need a water cooler/remote control as of right now.

I've had and used more than 10 different pairs of headsets for the PS3 and none of them have mentioned anything about the PS3 and they worked, they're all USB too. Just because it doesn't mention anything about the PS3 doesn't mean that it won't work.

Having said that Steelseries' Siberia v2 did require drivers on their headset which meant that when plugging in via USB you would only get the microphone working, to combat that they did release an audio mixer.
