Watch Dogs VS Assassin's Creed IV

    VS

If you want an open, in-depth, single-player game on launch, then it will have to be one of these two games. However, both are made by Ubisoft and have similar gameplay formulas.

Watch Dogs has the advantage of being a new IP, but Assassin's Creed IV seems to have more varied gameplay and a more interesting setting in my opinion. However, I've already played three Assassin's Creed games and I'm not sure if I want to start my PS4 experience with a franchise I grew tired of.

So I'm leaning towards Watch Dogs right now.

Here are 10-minute gameplay demonstrations of each game:

Which one will you be picking up? Or will you pick up neither or both?

Well, I'm not too fond of Assassin's Creed, so this is a no brainer for me. And Watch Dogs likes very interesting.

I grew tired of AC but surprisingly Ubi has won me back. ACIV is looking MUCH better in terms of gameplay, the videos speak for themselves. I've not seen what you can do in watchdogs other than beat down some punk or hack a camera

We've seen how huge the map is for ACIV but we don't know that about watch dogs. So basically what I'm saying is that right now ACIV seems to have much more depth

I loved the Assassin's Creed games with Ezio. AC3 bored me to death so I'm pretty much done with the series. I'm going with Watch Dogs.

Never played the AC series but I love pirates. I have been going back and forth on these two. I got the launch day bundle with Knack for my kids, but I just pre-ordered AC4 from Amazon. I may try and sneak WD in at the next payday before the wife notices.

Watch Dogs at launch for me, I'll pick up AC4 the same way I've done with the rest of the game series which is when they go cheaper.

AC4 will be my launch pickup. WD looks nice, but i'll pick it up used in the spring or something. Not a game that interests me.

I preordered Watchdogs and hold high hopes for this game. I have never been a huge Assassin's Creed fan. Although I would like to get around to playing at least one.

I'd say both look good. I'm not getting PS4 on launch, so I'll be playing both on PC.

Also, I don't see the problem ppl have with AC3. It was a pretty fun game.

I wanted to like one, really did, but I just can't get excited for either. Have a feeling they'll both lack that real 'wow' factor that'll make them must-haves.

    I've got both pre-ordered.

I've played every AC game so far.

AC - Was great scenery, decent story, but dragged on too long with repetitive activities and the mechanics needed improvement
AC II games - Much better mechanics, a much more enjoyable character to play, even better environments, didn't grow too board as the repetition wasn't too great or at least was broken up to a degree it didn't feel too bad.
AC III - Dragged on a bit too much in a number of areas - Watching settlers was a major PIA. Story seemed to drag on to long w/o enough direct actions. Then the Brawlers, Frontersman, ... actions were annoying. The Naval warfare was interesting and a bit fun, but limited. Add to this the bugged advancement locking me out of Trophies and I wasn't as happy as I should have been at the end.
AC IV - When it was first announced I gave a groan because it seemed it would just be a boat load of AC III Naval battles. It wasn't until the last couple of months with the Video's dropping and good descriptions of the game by the director that I grew back to not only interested but excited for a new AC w/ a changed up play. One that doesn't limit your progression w/ Sync walls but with, yeah you can try it, but you're going to get your ass kicked by that Man o' war.

The same thing that caught my eye on AC is what caught my eye on Watch Dogs. The glitter of awesome graphical environment (for it's time) and what looks to be very interesting and unique game play. These two added together can produce stellar games and I'm really looking forward to giving it a try.

Actually AC-Watchdogs-Farcry all share the same concept with the difference of the themes and some minor gameplay tweaks. It's like Ubisoft team get together every year and come up with some new ganeplay ideas ans start scattering them on their games.
For me Watchdogs looks very interesting and have some new stuff. I'll probably get it on WiiU.

Ultimately both but on launch I can only afford so much and I already have my eye on AC and The Witcher 3, so for now I vote AC.

The Witcher 3 isnt a launch title, so you could possibly get both :P (I dont expect that until a bit into 2014)
