Why would xbox-one need mantle anyway? They have direct -x. Mantle is exclusive to PC's anyway.
Xbox one don't need it because it already jas a low-level API Directx 11.2 and Direct3D. Mantle wasn't design for console only for PC.

c'mon guys, do you think the OP actually cares about Xbox having it.
in a box that does not need Open GL or MANTLE. why do you think it's a concern that is does not?
is there another console out there by any-chance that does use them?
Sounds like it's DOA
Mantle was always meant primarily for PC since consoles have been using low level APIs for years.

OpenGL is cool, I can see why they would go with Direct X being Microsoft but other than that no real reason to enforce it.
While the systems are both AMD, I bet the Xone uses different colour spacing / gamma curve and crushes the black levels for a third generation.
Look at project Spark, that game to me looks heavily crushed.
