GTA V vs. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

I have to admit there's some stuff from the PS2 iteration of San Andreas that I would have liked to see come back in GTA V. One thing that really sticks out for me is the absence of a 6-star wanted level that brought with it soldiers, humvees, military trucks and tanks.

As for the story, I prefer Michael, Franklin and Trevor's in GTA V over CJ's in GTA: San Andreas because CJ's felt like it dragged on for too long. However, GTA: San Andreas does include one of my favorite characters in a GTA game, Mike Toreno. Aliens and UFOs are also featured in the game as one of GTA V's secrets while GTA: San Andreas only hinted at their existence with a UFO diner and Area 69's hard-to-reach interior.

Johnny Klebitz making an appearance in GTA V also reminded me of how surprising it was to see Claude from GTA III in GTA: San Andreas though you can sometimes see Johnny's face on newspapers. I dunno, it's cool.

I still really enjoy GTA V. It's my second favorite GTA game (the first being GTA III). But I'm interested in what others have to say about GTA V and GTA: San Andreas.

You know, I really like the driving in GTA V. It's one of my favorite things. I know people will say the handling sucks but it varies with different vehicles.

Well I considered GTA San Andreas as the best GTA of all time, for me. And then GTA V came out. GTA V is 2 legit 2 quit.

there are tanks and humvees in GTA5. in fact, planes, attach choppers and attack boats too. those tanks and humvees must have soldiers in them too i believe.

Yes, but they could have been part of the wanted system again. To see them roll into Los Santos while you're wreaking havoc would be badass.

I don't have a specific favorite. Really enjoyed both games, stocks and trades its a more realistic business type of way to gain some money although I doubt you don't get taxed some how lol. As for the characters, CJ's is more about going the ghetto life while in the other you just have perspectives of different personalities with their own life struggles. The evolution of GTA5 is incredibly amazing and the depth of the map is awesome. When it comes to San Andreas, I'll never forget about the betrayal of Big Smoke. And I really been fond of Trevor's character.

GTA V for me, as much as I loved San Andreas I just found it soooo frustrating at times.

I preferred Vice City over San Andreas though because of the 80's atmosphere it did so well at representing.

This thread is essentially GTA Forums currently, all there is is threads comparing these two games. I agree I was expecting more stuff from SA to carry over into GTA V. I think GTA V is better so far that I've played because there wasn't much mind-blowing content when I first played SA last December but with V its all mind $#@!s.

I agree with only the first point but the rest is a no go. The 2nd is an added feature that can be ignored, 3rd I don't get (online?), and the 4th is backwards; I like Franklin way more than CJ. CJ was annoying and lame...very unlikeable to me and always whining in the game. That whole thing with his family and then Catalina was painful story-wise. He just randomly says he loves her after 2 missions!?! His interactions with the Triads were good. With that said, I liked the characters Tenpenny and Toreno.

Yes, all that content about the army and no 6-star wanted is so $#@!ing stupid. I would actually like an answer from Rockstar on that one. If I had to guess it would be hardware limitations. Still...

Its one of my disappointments. I guess you didn't know until now because you couldn't make it up to 5 stars without cheats . The difference between 4-5 stars is too minimal so that needs fixing with DLC.

I really dug it at first and still do but the killing got repetitive. Also, some areas where you try and get some gang members to spawn is a huge pain in the back.

that I actually agree with im not to fond on the idea of stock & market exchanges, but making money is a lot harder now than its ever been I mean the split between the 3 inc the crew helping in on missions unless they die lol can be un fair at a point where you want to spend but haven't enough.

the stocks are definitely not well thoughtout. they should've just allowed betting more or casinos. that would've been amazing. imagine people out there with real (game money) and playing texas hold em.
