    PS4's BRL price is R$ 858.00.
    That's $394.85 in USD. (cheaper than NA)

    Sony Brazil's profit margin on that is R$ 257.00 (118.27 USD)
    They remove that profit margin as a "discount" to keep costs down.

    But the tax adds on R$ 2,524.00 ($1161.53 USD) On top of the base price and retailer markup.
