Is the ps4 powerful enough to ......

I was just thinking if the ps4 is powerful enough to render in game graphics on the same level of the ps3 target renders of killzone and motorstorm shown at e3 2005?

I'd be surprised if it wasn't capable of achieving some CGI-like visuals in the next couple years. I think GTA V looks better than the pre-rendered Eight Days trailer.

Real time on a technical level? I doubt it can generate the same poly's being shown in the KZ2 2005 trailer.. But artistically? Probably.

That is, KZ:SF will have so much more polish to it than that trailer did. You'll see a lot more attention to detail and various effects that that trailer, in spite of being pre rendered and impressive with polycount and volumetric explosions, didn't have.

I have faith that we will get close to CGI graphics as well. Can't wait.

Am I not eyeballing it correctly or doesn't The Order: 1886 actually already exceed the KZ Target Renders from 2005?

Well, something I liked is that we did see real-time track deformation in MotorStorm and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift (one of my favorite PS3 games). I'm hoping next-gen games not only look good but are more dynamic in ways you interact with the environment.

When PS4 gets to the point where it can produce titles like TLOU and Beyond of the PS3 era (aka those end of gen graphics each PlayStation had) then I imagine it could be close. Once studios like ND, QD and GG have refined their PS4 kung fu, we will see some crazy stuff.

The Motorstorm target render, I'd say probably not.

As for the The Killzone one, the Order and Shadow Fall already look better.

I'm dubious that it does technically. It might seem too.

Probably not in pure polys, but I think the textures look a lot more high res at least.

I'd love to see a Motorstorm game on PS4. Would definitely be amazing.

I think kz2 and 3 came close enough to the 2005 render. So I would say kz:sf will surely surpass it. The motor storm 2005 trailer was just complete bs and should have never seen the light of day.

As long as they learn to =Equal the FUN/Technology ratio 50/50 the games will look and play amazing, I remember Motostorm back in the day looked amazing, but the loading was so slow it made me want to drive over my old PS3 phat back in the day, I got so sick of it... made me wish I could have turned down the visuals just to get a faster game happening. I just hope the environments don't become too polished for the sake of turing a crap game into an amazing looking one... I really want to see what kinda stunts the launch games are gonna pull in this department.

I want Sony to do a nintendo strategy and optimise games for longer to look better, but not push the hardware to the limits, head room is always a good thing for down the track.

I want the PS4 experience to be a SNES experience and hardly ever load, that's why I believe we need to go back to digital, the faster the game systems switch over to SSD storage and use higher power microprocessors the better and the quicker we will get back to the arcade experience of yesteryear.

David Cage has said this will be the minimum quality he will be delivering on the PS4 as this was made with the Beyond: Two Souls engine. (PS3 engine)

So I have to say yes.

Well Killzone 2 almost catches the visuals from the CGI trailer and that was on the PS3 !!!!!! I remember that the lightning was absolutely fantastic and stunning. In the first 10min. when u fight on the ground in the first mission, you see a ISA transporter landing right near you and this little scene looks exact like a CGI animation from the trailer. So in some areas yes they already did it.
And for the PS4. $#@! ofc they will. See the post above me.

Yeah, imagine how amazing the graphics will be in the end of the PS4 era. In The Last Of Us the developers really pushed past the limit of gameplay and graphics by doing things smart, they'll probably going to do the same with PS4.

I'm hoping for something as amazing as The Last Of Us.
