Just watched these videos and all I have to say is that BF4 looks like it will be pretty nice on the PS4.

I don't get it, the PS4 looks crystal clear here, in the comparison video but on DF its blurry?! it's so strange.

BTW its better to download the video! instead of the crap streaming player. Looks GLORIOUS.

Maybe df intentionally effed it up. All I know is it was a joke.

Digital Foundry has already come out and said they had some mistake with their capture set up that was making the PS4 blurry. IGN has also mentioned something about their capture setup. Now, there has been a claim that the XBone version was an early version without Ambient Occlusion (AO). This is after thousands of people saying they saw no difference and a few people were noticing something strange about the shadow shading and specular/glossiness light effects. Ho-hum.

These video comparisons aren't all that much use. Look at the text on the gameplay screens. All the text is blurry and full of compression artifacts. Anybody that has played Battlefield knows the text is crisp and sharp on the HDTV. These video captures need to have a different still camera taking off screen shots at the same points, so the effects of video compression can be compared.

Digital Foundry said that they made a mistake when they captured PS4 version... Not sure if that has to do with blurriness. It may be 900P resolution.

There is with HD streaming, which is only happening in labs, for eventual wider internet use. Netflix is streaming 1080p and some of the newer shows are in Super HD which is sometimes a little too clear (boundary where actresses foundation stops and you see her chest with wrinkles and liver spots, some actors with distracting large pores, etc.). Game sites are a bunch of amateurs rigging up pro-sumer equipment and using video compression because they don't have the money to put some huge fiber fatpipe from their offices and fast enough video servers to deliver uncompressed or AVC data streams. Maybe twitch will progress to that by later this year, since they are trying to make a business out of that.

Judging from the pics there aren't many easily discernible differences.

and wtf, why an i5 and sli 560ti? I'm guessing they running it at 1080p?

    PC on Ultra High settings:
Go to this link. Youtube doesn't support direct links to their HD stream. Just as the video starts, click on the little gear in the bottom toolbar, then select HD 1080p, it will buffer, then go to full screen. You can tell there are very few compression artifacts because all the text and hud on-screen are crisp and clear. DICE basically used the same game assets for all three versions, so the difference is in the lighting and animation effects, draw distance and AA.

The difference is not worth buying a titan or GTX 780 for. PS4 from other sites looks on par, are you sure this is MAX/ULTRA settings? [90 fps]

Yeah, for me it was above my expectations. But, with all the early build (alfa & beta) footage that has been shown so far, it's hard not to lower your expectations. I should've learned from history, that the BF alfas & betas always looked terrible compared to the "finished" product.

Man, that video looked awesome. If it comes close to this on the PS4, I'm a happy man (with a hard-on).

The PS4 version will be more fun for MP. A lot of people with gaming PC's, but not high-end graphics cards, are having trouble getting steady 30fps with Ultra High settings. Some say they get decent gameplay at 1440p if they turn down the AA. It shows that just a gaming PC isn't going to get the best performance. That will take a top end PC. The PS4 AA is very good and it also appears to have a long draw distance, so the compromises are minimized. The PS4 cost of entry and the quality of the gameplay are going to be the best experience.

Ya the BETA was a blast.

As a side note you dont need a GTX 780 to run it. I run it fine with my GTX680's ultra and 1080p abd that was the beta build

And I was worried my GTX680 was going to be crap after this year.
Had that card for a about a year now and man, it's been a champ.
How long of a life does the 680 have left in it you think?
I'm not a PC expert and my PC that I have now is my first real gaming PC so I don't have the experience to judge properly.

    I have:

    i5 2.8Ghz
    12GB RAM
    GTX 680

I run it @ 1600x900 with NO AA/NO Vsync and get about 40-80 fps. Average is about 60 fps.

Do not forget to cancel the ps4/x1 preorder as well.

Otherwise you wont have any games for either.

A 560 ti can run it at max? Whaaaaa? No way man.

PS4 version looks great in this footage, as good as the PC and slightly better at times even. All I can say is I hope DF did fuck up somehow and the rest are more accurate because I've had enough vaseline post processing effect from the PS3 to last a fucking life time.

Would be nicer if they used the same sound setting son PS4 and PC. It sounds like they used wartapes on PS4 and hi-fi on PC.
