    I hope it auto-dims/brightens based on the ambient light.

    I don't think it changes all sorts of pretty colors.
    I'm pretty sure he meant the standard,
    Blue, white, red, and orange, that the original ps light did just a big line instead of a single dot, but I highly doubt it's gonna turn color based on mood.
    I think the light is just for system messages only.
    But I could be wrong,

    Hey dude, welcome to PSU! Drop me a PM if you need any help or have questions.

    This is cool, I wonder if it has anything to do with the dualshock color changes. I want it to do the Knightrider thing.

    I wonder how bright this will be in a dark room. I hate bright lights, especially blue ones, in my game room. I've covered more than one w/ a tiny bit of electrical tape with a pin-hole so I could still see it. I don't want to do it to the PS4's bar but I will if I need to.

    I think it's more to do with the status of the console imo. This way, people can't say, "But I didn't notice the light change color when the console suddenly started whining really loud because I was a dumbass and didn't ventilate it properly". No excuses folks. I wonder if the console will have on-screen text which goes up depending on the situation it's in?

    Blue = Chilling out
    Yellow = Must have air
    Orange = It's getting hot in here
    Red = R.I.P.

    I seriously doubt if they have an indicator for levels of processor temp range. They simply ramp up the fan speed (which is a stepless fan this time.) And once it reaches a temp they feel is too hot to safely operate it shuts down. That was the intent on the PS3 but when the thermal compound failed and heat caused some board board flex resulting it balls pulling away from the board (or cracking in the solder at the balls.) And this is why they 'Reflow' and new thermal compound worked.

    This problem had a much greater impact on the early units as they were much higher temp (my 80GB Phat PS3 failed this way - It worked after I did the reflow using actual reflow equipment at work.)

    With a system that's supposed to run at much lower power system, it being a single APU instead of two Proc's sharing a thermal solution, experience learned from PS3. I'd say that this shouldn't be an issue.

    I'd expect Blue = On, Orange = HDD write access, Red = Safety power down.

    At this point, it's all guesswork. Nobody's confirmed what is/isn't there in terms of colors on the PS4 light strip.

    Doubt it, I'm sure it'll be just like the PS Move controller, the light color will also most likely sync with the DS4 light bar.

    I was just joking. Maybe it'll be green when you use the Xbone to turn on the PS4....Muhahahahaha

    I hope the lights not to bright. Would bother me at night if it was Dling patches/games when I'm trying to go to sleep, or even just when I'm playing in just the light of the TV.
