Yeah, I'm starting to wish I had waited. This is really not a true next gen title like I originally thought. The textures are muddy... mega-textures my @$$. several of the areas in the game are shrouded in a hazy fog that gets in the way of showing the graphics which in some ways is a good thing. And the performance on high end PCs is atrocious. I do like the single player story but truly disappointed that the game isn't what I thought it was. Next Gen? No. The graphics engine needs to be retired. Time to rebuild from the ground up or this franchise might be on its last legs.

The graphics are ok but it should run much better.
How can it be that BF4 looks better and performs better!? That's just BS.

Played a few hours online yesterday and i have to say it runs pretty bad.
Alot of lag and the game feels like it runs at 25fps even when fraps shows 50-60 fps!
Also had to tweak the MPcfg to lower the allowed ping (standard is 800ms! WTH?).

The game can't even handle the steam overlays so i had to deactivate them as well.
Some people can't run Fraps in the background at all, it worked a while for me but then the game crashed completely

Gonna update my gpu driver now, maybe that'll help but we need a patch asap

The amount of money Activision have made on this franchise and this proves that there using the same old engine should show gamers and fans of the series its just same old crap year in year out with different locations/story except of the MW series with continues on. If they can't be bothered to start from scratch what does that tell you of the devs Lazy/bone idle etc to me it does but that's just me I stopped playing into there **** after MW2 and I've never played one since fully or bought one.

Unfortunately that's how and will always be the case with COD they see it as not breaking the graphics barrier for what is plain and simply a arcade shooter.

I'll have to agree with that. A Borken piece of cr*p like this should be making 1 billion dollar in 24 hours...

I hope PC and Next Gen Consoles sales Flop so they wake the hell up.

Yes, it will bypass the 6GB limit, but game will stick suck. It seems the game will run awfully under whatever rig you have, except for a few lucky ones with random setups... :S

After playing alittle more i have to agree that this game is a mess.
No matter how low i turn the graphics settings the game just keeps running poorly in Multiplayer.

There's alot of lag but it's not even the biggest problem - like i said it just feels like it's running at 25 frames or even lower sometimes then it goes up to 60 then down again, chop chop chop.
Combine that with a ping of ~200 (that's how it feels like at least) and you get a big juicy turdsandwich.

I wish i could return this game and kinda hate myself for buying it :\

Ancient engine with a few tack-ons. What do you expect....... BF4 is using a modern engine far younger than COD that is actually made to take advantage of modern hardware/features

I must admit. Im having a lot more fun with BF4. Apart from having a few games without any noise it has been much better overall

Seems like it. I dunno why there's no ping shown on the scoreboard but maybe they had "good reasons" for it
Like I said std setting for max allowed ping is 800 in the mpcfg. I don't have to tell you guys how much fun it is to play with a ping of 800.

Lowered it to 150 but it still lags like hell.... If there is a solution I haven't found it yet :/

Guys, AMD has just released updated drivers with COD Updates. Ppl with Crossfire setups will notice a healthy performance increase. I absolutely Did.

    http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-arti...dows-beta.aspx

HOWEVER, this games' issues aren't driver related. It will still severely stutter while streaming data from the HDD.

I seriously suspect it's RAM related, in my case at least. The game is eating up almost all my RAM and I'm not comfortable with it.

Extra 8GB of 2400 RAM will arrive in 1 week or so. I'll be very curious to see what happens then.

it was a stuttering mess when I played it release day. Jumped straight back into BF4 until it's sorted out. CoD is horrible when it isn't smooth. I thought my mouse was broke

Sooooooooooo.... I've just received my extra 8GB of RAM... and guess what!

    Copying my post on Neogaf:
Ok so, from the beginning I suspected all this was RAM Related (in my case at least) It's a 64bit game with a minimum required of 6GB and it stuttered like hell while it was streaming stuff from the HDD.

So I decided to buy additional 8GB of DD3 2400Mhz RAM (for a total of 16GB) and guess what...

The game now runs smoothly, I've only noticed one very brief moment of HDD streaming stuttering in the Intro Chapter. And how much better does it like when it runs they way it's meant to. I'm guessing moving it to the SSD will completely eliminate Stuttering.

Checking it out, I've figured I'm using above 10GB - 11GB with Chrome + Neogaf opened - when running COD Ghosts (and I've closed a lot of resident programs before doing so) So the belief that the 6GB requierement is absurd because the game only gets to use 2GB is... errr... Absurd.

IW must absolutely know what the problem is, but they don't really want to drop a bomb saying their game demands that much memory to run properly.

    Specs:
    Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bits.
    Powercolor 7990 @ 1125 / 1575 Mhz
    Core i7 3770k @ 4.5Ghz
    16GB DDR3 2400Mhz
AMD Catalyst 13.11 Beta V9.2 <-- You absolutely need this for a 7990.

    Cheers!

IF you said to me this time last year that you would be needing at least 8GB RAM for a COD game I would have done this

    http://youtu.be/IgL8h_u2PHw?t=3m5s

    then said this

Strange, with those specifications you shouldnt have any problems at all. Looks like its just a bad port and is poorly optimized. Wait for updates and latest amd drivers.

OK ghost mp runs pretty good now with the latest amd beta drivers... There's still a little lag now and then but at least the frame rate is stable.

    I'm lvl 52 right now.

I still haven't played this since launch. It was laggy as hell to begin with so I was going to wait until it's smooth again. Seems that might be now. BF4 is my go to shooter currently but I'll check out Ghosts over the weekend I think.
