No, its a DLNA device so you can just stream music from you PC/Nasbox etc.

Its only if you want xbox muisc, which is like itunes, it works on multiple devices.

    Yeah, unfortunately, you do:
    http://www.xbox.com/en-US/music/music-pass

The fine print at the bottom of the page:

On Xbox 360, Xbox Music Pass is streaming only and also requires an Xbox LIVE Gold membership (both sold separately). Some Xbox Music content may not be available via Xbox Music Pass, and may vary over time and by region. See xbox.com/music. On the Web, Xbox Music Pass is streaming only.

Yeah I know it is on the 360, I thought we were talking about the XBO?
Although that doesn't bode well I guess.

Yeah, I'm mean, it's my assumption that you'll need Gold on the Xbox One as well.

This is something to do with Albert giving misinformation not the fact of comparing the two. Blame the PR guy, he is the only reason this is being discussed.

Honestly this is not a biggie. Music Unlimited isn't free (AFAIK). SO whoop!

I mean, people have to pay for Spotify, Google Play etc don't they?

Correct, it not being free isn't really a big deal. The paywall bs is killer feature lol.

Free has limitations compared to the paid sub.
