I love my controller and never really had a problem with it until today. I've played all the PSN games, Knack, NBA2K14, AC:BF, and Just Dance 2014 without any problems. Today I played some CoD multiplayer and my thumb was killing me from trying to run holding down the L3. I wish I could make it autorun or remap the button. I can see this kind of game wearing away at the analog stick easily.

I know what you mean. My L3/left stick used to get hammered on the DS3 from cod, think 3 broke down on me in total with either a broke L3 or sticking analogue stick.
Doesn't help when the game requires constant clicking pushing forward.

Ive been struggling adapting to the DS4. It fits the hand well and sits comfy but the sticks feel too far away from my thumbs.

Between me and my son our ps4 seems like it's on nonstop and I have to say, our controllers look as good as the day they came out of the box. COD, AC4, Knack, NBA 2k, Madden, and no wear that I can see since day one Nov 15.

But, if it's going to wear out, my son will do his best to get it there!

Just finished playing CoD and after playing it for just one day the left analog on my controller no longer has the same look/feel as the right analog. It's just not made for being pressed and pushed constantly I guess. No other game I play has my ever doing that.

My only problem with the DS4 controller is the fact that it doesn't have a long charge and dies too quick.

I noticed this too. The DS3 lasted forever. DS4 seems to only last a good few hours.

I also agree with those complaining about pressing the L3 and R3 buttons. Even though I haven't played many games, I have messed about with the controller on its own a lot just to get used to it and them sticks are gonna hurt.

My only complaint also. The bundle I ordered off of Amazon was the extra controller bundle. I've been keeping one charged while using the other.

Probably because of the light bar.

I hope that doesn't become a big issue. One thing i can't stand is when my controllers get worn out.

I was thinking the same thing, could the touch pad also effect the controller batter as well?

Is there a way to disable the light bar? I don't use it anyway.

I'm wondering if this isn't variation in manufacturing quality. I've had no problems with mine after a little over 2 weeks with one of those weeks being on vacation/holiday. Probably have > 70hrs of play myself and another 30hrs from my son.

    DS4 Analog Stick Problem?

Mines started to develop this problem. Very slight rubber peel on the left analogue stick.

I actually felt it peel during a game of COD, disappointed as I'd nailed my DS3's and never had an issue this early on. Problem was mainly L3 completely failing afters years of abuse.

I've not really had much game time neither, around 10 hours in cod and 20 in battlefield. Not heavy handed at all, just a poor design. I was only playing cod because it was doube xp I think cod has taken more damage on the controller due to forever pressing the sprint, in bf4 sprint is unlimited.

I wonder if there's any caps/covers to put on the thumb sticks? I prefer the texture materials on the DS3, so I was thinking of doing that anyways, but I certainly don't want to have to deal with the sticks falling apart.

Does anyone know if the DS4 uses the same battery type/style/design as the DS3? I remember seeing replacement batteries for the DS3 that were physically the same size as the stock DS3 battery but it was almost 2 times the mAh, which is bigger than the DS4 from what I read.

it was bound to happen . soft plastic grips would never last the great amount of hours we gamers put on it. but even still after around 2 to 3 hundred hours I get a slight peel? $#@! the thing still grips so I am not annoyed oh and they sell stick covers at GameStop
