    BF4 Image Resolution Scaling

    so I was messing around with the video options and noticed this feature Resolution Scaling, after reading up on it a bit it looks like it's rendering the game video at a higher resolution the downsampling to 1080p which is really cool to see in a games option menu and hope other devs start using something similar.

    my question though is how do i know what resolution its downsampling from?
    I have it set to 130% and with everything ultra 4xmsaa its giving me really clean edges, frame rate took a bit of a hit but stays around ~45fps

    really no noticeable jaggys on wires like you would normally expect

    isn't that just SSAA?

    i could've sworn Super-sampling rendered the image at a higher res then down sampled.

    No its not just SSAA, You can do it he other way so the res is less than your monitor and up-scaled.

    1,3*1920=2496
    1.3*1080=1404
    so your internal rendering resolution is 2496*1404
    When using 200% scaling the game renders double resolution in both axis, meaning 4xSSAA.
