Really??? I got the 360 day one and it came with PDZ which was a major let down. The first 'next gen' game in my view was Oblivion.

Good games at the 360 launch:

    COD 2 (shooter)
    PDZ (shooter)

    Condemned (horror)

    Kameo (action adventure)

    NFS: MW (racing)
    PGR3 (racing)

    Geometry wars (arcade)

Games released in 2005, but not at launch:

    Dead or Alive 4 (fighter)

Seems like a pretty good launch lineup to me, that covers a lot of bases.

    PDZ was absolutely pants.
COD2 and PGR3 were okay, that I'll agree. Didn't blow your pants off though.
Kameo was the Knack of the day. People loved or hated it.

Don't really recall any negative things about kameo.

What about PDZ was bad? Aside from some clunky controls/animations, I thought it was fairly good.

Personally I find it weird that they are assigning scores to consoles based on launch games, since that is GOING to change over-time. They should rate launch line-up separate from the console itself.

They both failed on that account. Xbox One doesn't have that "one" title either. Also, you don't need to regret anything -- just return it. I am surprised you went ahead with it when you were more interested in the Xbox One anyway.
Did you know Polygon rated Gears of war Judgement higher than Last of us?

I love the Gears series. I'll definitely take any Gears game over any Halo game (Just didn't get into it despite MULTIPLE forced attempts to try as I knew it is a great series). But I don't know how you score it over a game like TLOU.

I know, you cna';t say what makes a certain game "better" than another one. You really can't, unless they're just TOO similar or the same ("e.g. NBA LIVE vs NBA 2K).

Case in point MATRIX's convo with Sparc - one didn't like PDZ, the other did. Basically, we can't really question it.

In saying all that, certain sites like Polygon will have a certain reputation. It's up to you how you read their opinions (reviews, editorials etc).

    #IndieStation4 and proud of it.

And people will continue to think that Microsofts endorsements aren't causing any of these very odd reviews. Even when the evidence is right there.

Pretty much. To me, this is the most damning. This is Arthur Gies prior to Sony announcing Killzone: SF..

I don't like seafood. I hate the taste, the smell, everything about it. I don't care if it's crafted beautifully, or that others find it amazing. That's on them.

Not me. I'll BEG for anything to be any other food than SEAFOOD!

If I go to an event, I'm hoping that the reveal for the new main course of that event for that restaurant, is not a seafood-based delicacy.

Well what do you know, when I get to that awards, do and I get allocated a meal to review; is the main course. And that main course: is seafood!!!

What do you think I'm going to say about it?

Depends on how he is with other FPS games. Of course, if you knew you had to eat seafood at a restuarant, why would you bother to eat and critique it. Either way, he does stand on one side of the fence, it's pretty well known.

To me, this whole rating system is broken. If someone doesn't like a certain genre, it makes no sense for them to review those games based on that genre. In order for any review to be accurate, they need people that like that type of game. Games such as FPS, JRPG, Action/Adventure, Puzzles, sports. It makes absolutely no sense for a guy that loves RPGs but hates FPS. It's always kind of boggled me a little bit. I end up sitting at the computer, reading the review knowing damn well that the reviewer hates that genre and I ended up saying "why?". If a guy likes FPS games and reviews an FPS game but doesn't like it, then that review is a bit more accurate on what to expect from other FPS gamers out there. They may not like it. While it's still an opinion, it's a better and more accurate review based on a reviewer that likes those type of games.

Why are people questioning their agenda, MS gave them 750G, what do you expect?

That's pretty much everyone's point. At worst, you give it to someone that is at least neutral about FPS games or a certain series. Not someone who is totally in love/hate with it.

Man Poly is loosing more credibility by each day...not only is everyone on here picking at there review from both consoles but other journalist are looking also.

Naturally, after being pointed out how wrong he was and how he was indeed lying to his readers, he blocked me:

The moral of this story is not to blatantly lie to your readers or viewers. Especially with something like this. You will be called out on it…
