It really doesn't bother me since I wont be wiggling the damn thing. Once I hook it up, it will stay in that one spot. It is kind of a bummer that this was all overlooked by sony. I remember with the PS1, you had to turn it upside down otherwise the machine would bug out. LOL

As I said in another thread, the PS4 is officially unbalanced! But like others I won't be pushing on the corner while I'm playing or probably ever. Still kind of a weird oversight on Sony's part.

Wait...What? I never turned mine upside down or heard of this for that matter. Was this a huge problem?

I've had various devices that don't sit perfectly level, including a MacBook Air I used daily for almost five years. Kind of gave me a typewriter feel when I was working. If it bothers you, call it into Sony, they will probably develop some new feet or feet extensions that are user-installable, and they'll send you a set when they're available. I can tell you, though, this amount off perfectly level, it's going to be within design spec. Doesn't mean they won't address it in future revisions or that they won't try and come up with an in-line solution for support requests, but if it's within spec it's not going to affect console performance or reliability.

You're going to hear 500 times about every single PS4 and XOne that fails in the first 90 days or otherwise has any sort of vaguely remarkable issue. You'll only hear about very, very few that work just fine out of the box and keep on working until everybody forgets someday they might not work.

Watch the news. They tell you about the people who die. They don't much mention all the people who keep on living.

yea, Sony addressed it. If I would play with the system right side up, it would freeze or blackout a lot of times.

    Also, get these.

So you put the game in, closed the lid and then turned the system lid side down? That is crazy if that is what you mean, I never had to or saw any of my friends doing that.

I had to do it with one of my Ps1's when it got old.. Apparently the brushes used to wear on the disk motor and you could get it to work a bit longer by turning it upside down and allowing gravity to take some of the weight of the disk off the struggling motor! Bear in mind my ps1 was very, very heavily used..

This is why this site will be turning into XBU in 6 months; Sony isn't capable of mass producing consoles with 100% perfect operation rate. It's simply not good enough.

I got my original PS1 at launch with Battle Toshinden and played it until the PS2 and never had that problem.

OMG!! Do you know what this means? I must not have played it enough, I'm not a real gamer!

Just because you didn't have a problem don't mean every single Ps1 ever made lasted from launch until you traded it in for the ps2.. Can't really see the need for a smart remark?

Mine was often on more than it was off playing Street Fighter ex+ Alpha, Tekken 1,2 and 3 among other things, and that included most weekends when sleep was kept to a bare minimum..

If there is a major manufacturing problem it will be down to farming the production out to the cheapest bidder..

Let's hope these incidents are isolated. Obviously there are going to be defective units with any electronic device, especially a launch model. Now if these numbers escalate to RROD numbers of 30% or more......ok....I'm going to say a little prayer right about now....
