I've had bits of rice that were a bit 'off'. But then again, it could be my fault (user-error) for that!! Oh noes!

And don't even let me get started on sand...

My Unit arrived DEAD! Only a Blue pulsing Light Shows signal of life. I was afraid It was my horrible luck but after reading Amazon's Customer Comments it seems that about 40% of them are getting Dead Units.
    What's going on! Help!!!!

PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN* Agriel

Ummm...First, that sucks if true, but take a breath. Second, no way it's NEAR 40%. I don't think anyone will ever break MS's record with the 360 and RROD. It's a fact that people will talk more about negatives than positives, so while there may be a good number of neg's on Amazon that's the majority of people POSTING the reviews at this point then. So bottom line, get yours fixed or swapped out. Amazon should be able to do that quickly if you ordered from them. Sorry that happened but facts are that out of a million sold in 24 hours, there will be some small percentage of failures. As long as that's <2-3% it's a successful launch.

All you have to decide is what to do with the time give to you....

Seriously! They sold 1 million units! With a 0.4% (which is VERY good) failure rate being the current official percentage that means about 4,000 ended up broken.

Xbox 360 was said to have a 3-5% failure rate at the time of launch (it later became ~23% with RROD after 2 years)

Of course with today's online media/forums/twitter/gaf/4chan/reddit/ect...a good number of those 4,000 very well have taken up rants online making it seem like this is a widespread issue.

In reality, if you have a broken unit it just means that your are very unlucky and got the one unit out of every 250 units that were bad.
