It would make sense: 20 year anniversary of Crash Bandicoot in 2016, It would sound nice with the PS4: Crash Bandicoot 4, and fans such as myself have been wanting this since the PS2 games.

I'd even be happy with HD remasters of 1-3 but Crash Bandicoot 4 would be a definite pre-order for me!

I grew up with the CB games, getting them each for Christmas every year they came out so my nostalgia glasses are certainly on. One of the best platforming series I ever played plus some funny TV commercials to promote the games. IMO Crash Bandicoot was to Playstation what Mario and Sonic were to Nintendo and Sega.
Yeah I remember everyone thinking it was happening when he wore that shirt. Turns out he's just a troll. Lol

LOL I hope not! From what I've read, every time he's wore a shirt at previous big events, there was a game announcement some time after. Fingers crossed!

Link to a great article about the entire making and development of Crash Bandicoot from the original creators. Heads up, it's a long but well worth it read:

It would be pretty cool to see a modern Crash for sure. I just don't know if ND would be free to do it.

I admit I won't believe it till I see it Activision still holds the rights to the Crash. If there's one thing they may do is re-release the PS1 classics for PS4.

Only the ps1 crash games were developed by naughty dog and published by SCE. Thereafter, the crash games have seen multiple shifts in developer/publisher. Now, activision has the rights to the game (after vivendi games merged into activision). I think the possibility of naughty dog doing a new crash game for ps4 would be bleak. I think i also remember reading somewhere that the two original designers who worked on crash bandicoot for ps1 are now no longer with naughty dog.

If I was Sony (maybe a little unrealistic but let me dream):
-do whatever it takes to buy all the rights from everyone for Crash Bandicoot
-bring back at least 1 or all the original creators on a temporary contract basis to be part of the development and have final say on the game
-have Naughty Dog, Traveller's Tales or some combination of them make the new CB game (since IMO those were the only companies that did any justice to CB)
-release HD remasters of the original 3 games on PS4 to bring about a new generation of fans and get them ready for an upcoming new PS4 CB game

All in all it would be a win win for Sony. They would profit and the fans would get what they want. The biggest challenge is finding the right developer and getting an original creator on board in some capacity.

Mario seems to get a new game every few years. Sonic even showed up again in the well done but unfinished Sonic 4 and the not great but not bad Sonic Generations. I think we're long overdue for a full Crash Bandicoot game and I welcome it with open arms.

As a Crash Bandicoot fan I don't even want to see a new game.
    Reason?
It's in the wrong hands. And even if it'd be in the right hands, I'm afraid it'd be changed around too much so it'd fit the current generation which is understandable but it'd take away nostalgia imo.

Sony may consider selling hd remasters of the original ps1 games but trying to buy back the rights for a new game, getting original developers on board, i doubt if they'd see that as financially viable.
