I made calls to PS4 Scalpers on Craigslist and put them on YouTube!

Here I am harassing some of the PS4 Scalpers trying to make a small fortune around the country... I've never really done any prank calls in my life, so this was all new to me. I think I got some better, more creative ideas for the 2nd episode and it turned out better, even though I was pretty off-the-wall and I think most of the victims knew it was a joke.

    Anyhow, enjoy!

I don't like prank calls. Nothing wrong with people selling for higher than retail, in my book that is.

Naw, it's all supply and demand. I guess I have a little beef with the guys that buy like 10 of them or something to try and rake in a ton of cash... but then again, they bought them and thought ahead of time.. and they are taking a risk of not being able to sell them and have their money tied up I guess.

In these videos, I was just having fun more then anything... especially in the 2nd episode where many of my victims were caught laughing.

Yeah, I'm not judging you by any means. I hope it didn't sound like that. I agree with ya in reference to someone buying a lot of units and then selling them at a higher price. I don't like it, but I also don't see anything wrong with it I guess. I know, I don't make sense at times lol.

I bought two PS3 systems at launch and put them on ebay that day, with the bids starting at 0.01, and no reserve. I let the "marketplace" dictate the prices. If they had sold for less than I paid, so be it. However, they both sold more than two and a half times what I paid.

LOL. That's funny. I also bought two PS3 systems back at PS3 launch with the same intention. Put the first one on Ebay starting at 1 cent as well, confident I'd make some money. However when it ended at like $635 or something (for the $600 version) and ebays fees and shipping and all, I think I lost like $60 on it, haha. So I just kept the second one I bought and ate the loss. lol.

I'm not really a fan of this. It reall does seem like you're judging these people, at least it did with the first person you called...

That $#@! was so funny. I hate seeing people marking them up on Craigslist. I don't care if people bid high on Ebay because they are dumb enough to bid.

I honestly think my 2nd episode is WAY better. I got more creative and original, and I didn't piss so many people off, actually got a laugh out of most of them. But glad you enjoyed it!

LOL, I pre-ordered mine on Amazon way back on June 10th. And I kept it. Like I said, I was just passing time and having fun.

Really lame and not funny at all. If you need some tips on prank calls, download Jerky Boys. I think most of the old stuff is on youtube.

As a former retailer also, it's 10 more units people could have bought at regular cost.
I just want more razor's out there to sell razor blades and i want more gamers out there to play.
I hope SONY unleashes a flood of systems and these get stuck selling them at cost.

Good enough.. No different to scalping/touting tickets to major sporting events where demand far outstrips supply. Different offering them on auction where you run the risk of taking a hit..

There's nothing about Scalping that fits in the economy.
Scalping is product harvesting and holding it for ransom.
Scalpers invest in units at retail cost and sell for multiples of the original cost (fractional multiples if you want to argue math with me).
Those units which sell could have been sold at cost to those individuals through the channel that the scalper bought it.
Scalpers reduce supply by harvesting/hoarding supply that was available to the general public.

If RETAILERS raised prices due to scarcity then that's supply and demand pricing, but Scalpers are essentially just profiteers.

For example: You don't sell the last Porsche ever made of a certain model if it's in demand for retail or the last being shipped for months, you mark it up! That's supply and demand pricing.

I reserve calling them names (profiteer is a term) due to some people making a living that way. With the advent of online shopping though, the idea that used to pay of going to remote areas to sell hard to find units has gone the way of the Dodo bird, so I find them more abhorrent now than ever.

I agree but they dont know how these launches go, they usually think they can walk in a store and pick one up.

Im trying to find one for my nephew right now because my sister is freaking out. Hes 12 and told her thats all he wants. I even told her to order over the summer because hes a ps fan.

If she cant find one ill restore mine and put it in the box like its new and he can have mine. God I hope I find one lol.

Amazon's going to get a bad name for what isn't really 'them' selling it, but because of their 3rd party marketplace partners selling like this. Ouch.
